章節 28: At the bottom of the well

I paid, after trying on my life. I didn't see anything else. I woke up in a hospital. The white lights and clean room were so different from the filthy cell where I was. Next to me, sitting, with a swollen face, I believe that my mother was dozing off from crying so much. I don't know how long it has been since I tried to hang myself in my jail cell. Due to my mother's tiredness, it had been a long time.

My first thought is disappointment, I'm alive. I feel like an incompetent once again. Realizing that I had woken up, my mother hugs me, I look over her shoulder, I see a police officer at the bedroom door, I realize that I am still in police custody:

- You're alive, my love! – my mother tells me while hugging and kissing me.

This display of affection lasts for a few minutes, until the doctor enters the room.
