Jackson rolled his eyes while Fil forcibly pushed him to the bedroom. When they got in, he lazily turned and faced her. 

"Sweetheart, in which part of the word, 'no,' did you not understand?" he asked, crossing his arm underneath his chest. "I'm not getting under the bed. I might be adventurous, but I'm not going through this humiliation."

Fil laughed awkwardly. "I know that," she breathed. "But can you please stay here? Or maybe in the bathroom?"

"Keep him out of my sacred haven." He lifted his brows briefly. "Or are you planning to let him in?"

"It's not like that." Fil glanced back at the bedroom's open door behind her. The doorbell was still ringing, and now Vincent was calling her loudly. "I know him. With this tone, I'm sure he'd force his way in."

"Force?"

"He is kinda like that sometimes."

"Had he ever hurt you, sweetheart?"

"What?" she furrowed her brows. "No."
