Vincent's eyes went wide, and his first instinct was to look left and right. He clicked his tongue even though he didn't see anyone, pulling her inside his place, and slamming the door with a bang. 

"What the hell are you doing here?" he asked in disbelief. "Wasn't I clear when I said we lie low?"

"Vincent, I —"

"Fuck!" Vincent ruffled his hair in irritation, pacing back and forth in front of her. 

"Vincent, no one followed me here," Marianne reassured, watching his patience burn slowly and steadily. "I know you want us to be careful, and I am being careful."

He hissed, glaring daggers at her. "Careful? You know the articles about us are still going around. You're in the entertainment industry. How come you don't know paparazzi do not stop until they get their scoop? If my grandfather hears another of this rumor, do you know what that means for me?"
