After a torturous half-hour trip home, Fil felt relief when she saw her apartment building. Who would have thought being with the man she used to love so much could be so insufferable? She had to listen to his every lie and pretend she believed all of them.
It was a turn-off.
"Finally," she whispered as she unbuckled her seatbelt. "Thanks for the ride."
Fil didn't feel the need to idle as she was too tired for the day. All she wanted was to wash herself and crash onto her bed. It was a long day, and spending some time with Vincent didn't help.
"Wait, Fil."
Just as Fil stepped out of the front passenger seat, she rolled her eyes. She wanted to pretend she didn't hear him and so she continued. However, Vincent also went out, which meant she had to stay a little longer.
"Let me walk you to your unit," he offered, jogging around the front to her. He reached for her stuff, only for Fil to move them away.
