Connor was very inclined to believe Huey had been one of the many to perish during the entrance exam, after learning of the kinds of trials they had to go through.

It was either Huey was dead during the exam, or he had been amongst those who used the bracelet to forfeit during the duration.

"It's either that, or he's been 'taken care of'." He added.

Lyra raised a brow at the last part.

"What do you mean, 'taken care off'?" She quoted.

Contrary to Connor, Lyra was certain Huey didn't die in the Den.

He couldn't have.

There was no way he could. Actually she couldn't fathom someone as incredible as Huey dying, wether by the dangerous abominations in the Hive, or the treacherous ambushes of the other candidates.

She couldn't even imagine Huey ever loosing a fight, less to talk of him dying.
