"But first, you should find out where your son is. Look at the hour it is and he has not returned," Layla said, refusing to drink before Victor was back home safe and sound. "What if he has found himself in trouble?"
Hank sighed, tired of her life revolving around just Victor. Here he was trying to enjoy the night with her since it was just the two of them, but she was so focused on Victor. "I will drink alone. You treat him as though he's a child. He won't know how to live his life if you are not around."
"And what is so bad about that?" Layla questioned, taking a step back from Hank. Victor should depend on her that way. "I know what is best for him."
"Treat him that way when he is a child and you as the parent must care for him, but not when he is a man and should be able to take care of himself. I'm tired of the jokes that we are raising a fool who can't do anything. He's smart but far behind his peers because you want to treat him like a baby," said Hank.
