"No, you can't do that, Jace!" a soft but commanding voice interrupted from the doorway and everyone turned to stare at the direction of the voice and almost immediately, chaos erupted in the entire room.

Some people's mouths gaped open in shock while others scrambled to take cover somewhere and only just a few stood, frowning in confusion.

Among those frowning in confusion was Grace until she suddenly felt a splitting headache and before she knew what was happening, everything went black. 

The sharp pounding in Grace's head drowned out the escalating noise around her. 

A few seconds later, Grace forced her eyes open, though her vision was blurred by the remnants of her headache. 

She caught sight of the figure standing in the doorway and her breath hitched in her throat as she strained to see more clearly.
