"I think I like her," Grace let out an unrestrained laugh.
"Seriously? I thought I just warned you about her," Jace couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"But she's so funny and lively, and I can't help but…"
"Don't even go there, Grace," Jace cut in when he saw Grace examine the complementary card in her hand.
"Why? She's harmless."
"Nerve wreckingly harmless, you should know," Jace corrected and handed over his card to the cashier who swiped it then returned it.
"But I can see you don't really hate her?"
"Don't really hate her?" Jace repeated more like a question. "That's the best outcome by my standards. If I should think of all the havoc Belannie had wrecked over the years, I'd consider myself a saint not to have hated her already. Her brother can't even stand her," Jace added as if he was referring to a tyrant.
"You make it look so bad, anyways, my spirit accepts her," Grace announced.
