She could feel her cheeks heating up, and her pulse quickened. She tried to find her voice, but the words were stuck in her throat.
As Jace waited for her answer, his eyes never left hers, and the seconds stretched into what felt like an eternity.
Finally, she managed to whisper, "yes. I... I was worried about you. Everyone in the villa was worried about you," she added just so he doesn't misinterpret her.
Jace's lips curved into a faint, knowing smile. He lifted a hand, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
The touch was electrifying, and Grace felt a warmth spread through her.
"I appreciate that you miss me," he said, his voice softer now, though still with that same husky edge.
He completely dismissed the other people she deliberately added and concentrated on her.
