Chuckling sheepishly, Grace narrated how excited she felt when Charles finally agreed to return to school, carefully omitting the part where she had jumped into Jace's arms.
"I was just a tad bit too excited," she admitted with a grin. "And just couldn't control myself."
Mrs Bert's face lit up with delight, her voice filled with genuine joy. "Oh, that's wonderful news, dear! You've been working so hard with Charles, and it's paying off."
Grace shrugged modestly, dismissing the praise. "It's all part of the job, Mrs Bert. Just doing what I can to help."
Before Grace could ask her what she was preparing, Vera and Mary, joined them in the kitchen and were instantly all over Grace with worried expression.
But as Grace filled them in on the reason she had screamed so loudly, they all chatted excitedly.
