Caesar lowered his gaze toward him, his frown deepening.

"Adeline, her scent is faint."  

"Huh?" Yuri was perplexed, not sure what he meant by that. 

Nikolai chirped in, explaining, "Her scent is faint, Yuri. Meaning she hasn't returned to this house since morning." 

"What?" Yuri was taken aback and confused. 

How could she not have returned? They were sure her apartment wasn't that far away. She couldn't possibly still be at the apartment, right?  

But Caesar was having a very horrible bad feeling. Something was wrong, and he knew it.

Sure, his first thought should have been that she ran from him again, however, he was sure it couldn't be the case this time around. 

Adeline wouldn't, he was sure of it.  

Then why hadn't she returned yet? What was going on?
