章節 14: :Mongrel The Lion Demon

Cyrus docked in a cave-like structure with blue glowing crystals etched on the corners or top of the cave.

Overall he was lost and confused because right in front of him he saw two caves leading to two different routes.

"I wish Alpha was here," Cyrus let out a sigh of frustration and decided to go with the route on the left... But in two seconds he came and muttered "Dead end".

In other words, Cyrus took the right route. Unknown to him...

A dark-matter humanoid lion adorned in a black suit was watching Cyrus through a floating screen. This demon sat on his throne and Cyrus's presence alone made him grip the handle of the throne tight.

He sneered with those razor-sharp fangs slightly visible, keeping his angry facade under control.

Meanwhile...

Cyrus thought this whole dungeon thing was a walk in the park or, better yet, a walk in the dungeon because he'd been walking for what seemed to be ten minutes.

That is until he heard a voice call out...

"Hey, what's your business here?"

Cyrus turned to face this mysterious figure but as he veered around he saw nobody and felt a blade at his throat.

'That was fast,' Cy exclaimed inwardly.

"Are you answering or do you want to see your head strolling on the floor?"

Okay, now Cy was beginning to think who the hell the girl thought she was. Cy just smirked and brushed off her blade then walked away muttering. "You haven't killed a human before... You don't have the killer instincts," said Cy.

"Uh? Hey, hold on," the brown-haired girl slightly yelled.

Instantly, Cyrus stopped not because she had told him to stop but because of the blue and red holographic system in front of him.

This was the first time in a long time the red system had given him a main quest like those he'd been given, which means.

'If I solo Mongrel, his stat would be mine,' Cyrus deciphered.

"Hey, I've been talking to you."

The girl's voice brought Cyrus out of his thoughts as she was just some steps behind Cy. Having had enough, Cyrus was about to slit her throat.

His dagger materialized within his grip and when he smirked and was about to slit her throat,

"Hey, we've been looking everywhere for ya, ya lost the rat in the cave we were at?"

Cy heard another voice and two steps coming behind him. So she's not alone.

"Damn, I thought she was wrong when she said someone else had entered the dungeon too," said the muscular one who was just an inch from Cyrus.

'I thought I saw a dagger in his hand, he doesn't look like a demon but... I could have sworn I saw him with a dagger,' the slender one behind them said.

The muscular angel smiled and tapped Cyrus's shoulder. Cyrus turned around to see the cold stare this guy was giving him.

He knew something was not up, if they knew someone else had entered the dungeon with them after they'd entered before, and clearly they knew the portal that brought them here closed.

'So the only place they'd think another person could come to is from the demon castle,' Cy deciphered.

"So how did you get to the dungeon?"

Cy could see this big guy was looking for a brutal fight, but Cy also knew if he attacked now, he was going to die in one go from the big guy's huge blade.

Cyrus looked at this guy's facade, he gave the big guy a cold and emotionless look before responding.

"I don't feel like sharing that with you," muttered Cyrus, brushing off the guy's palm and continuing walking.

The big guy grunted and was about to punch Cy's head out but was abruptly stopped by the slender one. "He doesn't give off the aura of a demon, maybe he's an angel or human… And it's against the rules for angels to hurt their kind."

Of course, Cyrus heard all that from his abnormal hearing, a dark smile crept to his lips with his hands tucked inside his black hooded sweater.

The angels and Cyrus arrived in front of a humongous black-red steel door, towering at the top of the cave.

The muscular angel hung his sword on his shoulder and then stepped forward, he glanced back and the slender and female angel nodded in response to go ahead.

-{Alert: When you enter, there's no coming out until Mongrel is dead}

The angel harshly opened the door. Inside was darker than the abyss, the slender one. However, he lit his palm in flames, and they all entered.

Whoosh...!

After they had all stepped foot inside, blue flames were etched on the circular gate with red carpet, lit up against the wall and at the top, a transparent red glass could be seen.

The door closed and right in front of them, they saw Mongrel the dark-matter lion with his purple glowing eyes staring at them all.

But everything, he knew, the angels didn't matter compared to Cyrus. His true rival was Cyrus. The angels were just some sort of warm-up.

"I guess we're not leaving here until he's dead," said the slender one.

All of them witnessed how the dark lion adorned in a black tuxedo rose to his feet… He sneered, and the blue flames stopped burning, causing everywhere to be dark.

Kweuk'

When the light turned back on, the slender angel coughed out a mouthful of blood accompanied by tears. Simply because Mongrel's claws had burst through his chest and was holding the poor thing's heart.

The remaining two angels stumbled backward in a state of shock and pity, unlike Cyrus, who smirked and muttered underneath his breath.
