In the office.
Lin Xiawei looked up at Pei Jinye several times but ultimately didn't voice what was on her mind.
She put it succinctly, "You did very well on this mission."
Seeing this, Pei Jinye tentatively asked, "Then, Sister, should I come to the base again in a couple of days? I had a small try with swordsmanship today and had some new insights, which might need some time."
"Sure."
Lin Xiawei agreed readily.
Before Pei Jinye could thank her, Lin Xiawei added, "But just to let you know, I won't bother you if there's nothing important. However, sometimes the master might get a whim—cough, might assign you some tasks occasionally."
Pei Jinye chuckled, "I understand. If there's nothing else then, I'll head back first."
"Do you have a ride? If not, I can have someone send you. It's not that I'm worried about your safety, it's just that it might be hard to get a taxi at this hour."
