Lun You couldn't get any information out of Lu Yebai, so he turned to the servants in the villa for answers.
When he learned the reason, Lu Yebai was utterly taken aback.
"How can it just happen to turn out like this?" He looked at Lu Yebai, saying, "Besides, it's not your fault, it was a misunderstanding. Anybody in that situation would've instinctively reached out to her."
Lu Yebai sat on the couch, forcing a bitter smile, "The most important thing is that she doesn't blame me."
If Meng Xi'er had reproached him at that time, it would've been better. It would have meant she still had some hope for him.
But Meng Xi'er didn't blame him.
She was so disappointed in him that she didn't even have the strength to blame him.
Seeing Lu Yebai's regret and self-blame, Lun You didn't know what to say. So, he broached the idea, "Should I try to talk with her?"
Lu Yebai shot him a look: "Don't make things more complicated."
