Meng Xi'er lifted her head to look at him.
She shook her head slightly, "I'm not angry."
Lu Yebai gazed at her, lips pursed slightly.
Meng Xi'er chuckled, "I really am not angry. I know you didn't see it when you came in," she withdrew her hand, rubbing her eyebrows, looking a little tired.
"I want to go sleep for a bit."
She stood up, facing Lu Yebai, "I'm going first."
Lu Yebai sat on the sofa, watching Meng Xi'er's figure disappear into the staircase. He averted his gaze, lost in the emptiness, exhaling a long sigh.
He was a little baffled.
How could she not be angry?
He thought to himself, but she really seemed to not be angry.
As if... disappointed to the extreme about something, she didn't even have the spirit to feel angry.
He would rather she hit him, scold him, than to see her indifferent like this.
He gently closed his eyes, tasting bitterness in his mouth.
Meng Xi'er took a painkiller, which included a sleep-inducing ingredient, and she quickly fell asleep.
