"Yes ma'am… thank you ma'am. No, I'll definitely be alright. I'll be in school tomorrow. And thank you seonsaengnim (teacher). I'll be sure to send the money for the extra uniform to you this evening."
He hung up afterwards and fell to his bed, staring at the ceiling.
In just one night, a lot seem to be changing about his life. Yet it feels like nothing is changing at all.
'I'm bored…'
Usually, there had never been a reason for him to stay at home. Basically because he hated missing school, yes, he was being bullied but he was also going to school and learning and currently he is the second best in his class.
Which was quite uncomfortable for him. The first best…
Vincent shook his head with bare jealousy. He didn't want to think about that guy at all!
He stood up.
"I know what I'll do. I'll go out and see what I can do with this new guy."
He would be denying if he said he wasn't feeling extra refreshed and energetic. The effect of the coffee was very real too.
Vincent grabbed a grey hoodie from his crates of clothes and wore it. He slipped into an old track pants and entered his worn-out canvas.
Thanks to the all night rain, the day was still kinda cold. And he wasn't too sure about being seen outside. Whatever things he was going to do with this new power, he felt covering his face would just put him on the safer side.
He took a last glance at his room and slipped his hands into the pocket of his hoodie, gently walking out of his place and to the elevator.
Getting out of the building, Vincent took a gentle stride through the barren neighborhood.
He had particularly selected this place when he wanted to move in because he heard that there were very few people. Being a very introverted guy, he just sort of loved it.
And the reality of the neighborhood was true to its reputation. However, it was so barren that no one was walking on the road and that was because people around this time had all gone to walk.
Vincent trekked down to the front of the convenience store where he had made a pretty big decision just yesterday's night.
He paused, staring into the see-through glass wall of the store. The place was line by an array of shelves filled with goodies begging to be bought, each fancy and spectacular in their own way.
If he had money on him he would have entered the building to at least buy a thing or two.
'It's so strange that I gave never really been in this place before.'
Vincent had practically never been anywhere except the market. When it was the beginning of the year, he would shop all he needed for the year and should he run out of things as time went, he would preferred to go to the market to get them at cheaper prices.
Standing in front of a convenience store for him right now was just awesome… that he smiled.
[You have received a new quest]
His eyes widened as the blue panel popped out of the air.
'Yes! Finally, a quest!'
Quest title: Trample On' Em
Quest description: [Really? What do these bunch of kids think they are? Bullying in the presence of a wicked high schooler?! Teach the bunch of kids a lesson, beat their ass and make them make a run for it.]
Quest reward: [+1 normal card, +1 rare card]
"Two cards!"
Vincent's eyes went lit like sparkles. He didn't think about there being another card. He also wasn't expecting the next line of letters.
Quest failure: [Death By Electrocution.]
[Further explanation: since you have died once by electrocution, you will be put in that experience till your sense is correct and you despise losing as the vile existence despise goody two shoes.]
'This is crazy… this is just really crazy… now it wants me to beat up a bunch of kids? But why?!'
Vincent felt like he was going to go crazy. Again, where was he supposed to get a bunch of highschoolers, what was it with the cheesy description!
He was about to walk away when four middle schoolers walked out of the convenience store. They were almost his height but he could tell by their uniform and look that they were middle school.
Most importantly, his instincts made him feel like these were the ones that the system was referring to.
Immediately he laid his eyes on them, he knew what this was. They were four, all walking away freely but one of them was not that free. His hair was a bit rough and his steps were shaky.
Vincent frowned.
'So that's what this is uh…'
Now, Blue's description was sort of making sense. But does that mean he is the wicked high schooler?
'Seriously how?'
Vincent watched the kids walk away, not letting them out of his sight. When they had gone quite far he began to follow them, lowering his hoodie.
This was shameless but there was no other way to do this. Not with that quest failure that an extra effrontery was taken to 'further explain'.
'I'm sorry… guys. I'm going to be bullying the shit out of you.'
Vincent hated himself for a moment, because deep inside he felt like he was going to enjoy this. Usually, he wouldn't pay attention to things like this since he had a cup of tea of his own but Blu was forcing him.
And that's totally okay… since he would be getting a reward for it. And they were practically bullies who were bullying their mates. Judging by their looks, they would roughly be around the age of thirteen to fourteen, he really should feel shameful about this…
'No can do… I don't intend to be sent to an experience of death by electrocution.'
Finally, he paused as the kids got to a kindergarten park that had been put together by the community for children to gather once in a while.
'Let's think, let's think… there should be other ways to make this work without having to use violence. Blu wasn't particular about my methods, it just asked me to teach them a lesson right? Then it should be okay using this video to blackmail them right?'
A grin formed on Vincent's face as he thought of how sweet his idea was while watching as three fat boys made a move on the skinny one.
'Goddamn, why does it always have to be the skinny one!'
