章節 118: Tie Them Up

Looking at the weapons in the three large trucks, who wouldn't be envious? He who possesses weapons possesses the world.

"Bind them up. Hurley is the Base Commander's nephew, maybe we can use him as a hostage," Herschel suddenly suggested.

Hearing this, Keller became interested and immediately ordered someone to capture Hurley.

Two men saw that Hurley didn't have any weapons in his hands, so they threw their guns to the side and approached him with ropes to tie him up.

Hurley looked at them coldly, and when they were just within arm's reach, he suddenly grabbed one of the men by the collar. By the time he reacted, Hurley's hand was already choking his neck.

Almost simultaneously, Alice made her move, lifting her foot to kick the man's knee. As he knelt in pain, she swung her fist towards his head.

Both of them moved quickly, almost too fast for anyone to see.

Hurley threw the man over his shoulder towards the people surrounding them, creating an opening.

"Let's go."The two figures disappeared into the night in an instant, but Alice and Hurley didn't go far. They hid behind one of the large trucks and quickly retrieved weapons from the storage space while no one was looking.

"Chase after them!" Herschel immediately led the charge in the direction where the two had fled.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The sound of gunfire echoed in the darkness as the unsuspecting men became targets.

Herschel had no idea they had guns, and he was the first to charge ahead, only to be taken down by Hurley's shot.

There was no need to keep the traitor who betrayed the base. It was impossible to estimate how much information he had passed on to Keller and how much damage he had caused to the base.

Listening to the intense gunfire, Keller dared not approach and instead huddled with the group on the other side of the truck.

"Mr. Keller, there are weapons on the truck, and according to Herschel, there are grenades too. Let's go up and find the bombs to deal with them."Alice's firepower was too intense, and without grenades or weapons, there was no way to handle it, especially when the weapons were right in front of them.

"We'll cover you, hurry up and go up," Keller agreed with the plan and immediately ordered his men to shoot at Alice and Hurley.

With their cover, several men climbed onto the large truck and saw rows of large crates, their eyes shining with anticipation.

"Quick, let's find grenades and explosives first."

Several men immediately headed towards the closest crates, trying not to make any noise. They slowly opened them, but were shocked by what they found.

"This crate is empty," one man reached in and felt around, frustrated.

"Mine too."

"Mine as well."

Their mission off to a bad start, the men set aside the empty crates and moved on to the next ones, only to find them empty too.

"It's impossible for them to be empty. Where did the weapons go?"

"I refuse to believe they could have eaten the weapons."

After opening several rows of crates, they were horrified to find that all of them were empty. They stood there dumbfounded, unsure of what to do, and finally had to retreat.

"Did you find them?" Keller asked anxiously when he saw them coming down empty-handed.

"There are no weapons up there, the crates are empty," one man explained quietly.

Keller almost thought he had misheard. How could this be possible? He had watched them load the weapons on the mountain, and he was sure of it. Herschel wouldn't lie to them either.

Another man explained in their native language.

Still unwilling to accept it, Keller turned to the other two trucks, hoping the weapons might be there.

Perhaps there weren't as many weapons, maybe they only loaded two trucks. He gestured towards the two trucks, "Go up and search."

Once again, the men climbed up the second truck cautiously, while those below provided cover. They eagerly opened the crates, but to their dismay, they were empty once again. They continued to open the boxes in the second row, but they were still empty.

"Where are the weapons? Where did they go?"

However, after opening the crates in the front rows, they found that the back rows were still empty.

This result was unacceptable to everyone. But they couldn't conjure the weapons out of thin air, so they had no choice but to get off the truck and report back.

Keller's face darkened completely, and he cursed angrily, refusing to believe what was happening. He climbed up the truck himself, but came down in a fit of rage. If it weren't for these weapons, they wouldn't have gone to such lengths.

Ignoring everything else, Keller climbed onto the third truck himself, but still found no sign of the weapons.

"Boom!" In his fury, Keller kicked one of the nearby crates hard, making a loud noise.

Alice heard the noise and raised an eyebrow. She stopped shooting and turned to Hurley beside her, saying, "Keller must have found out the crates are empty. He's probably really mad."

The sound from the crates indicated just how angry he was.

Being toyed with like this, and still managing to laugh about it, was truly ruthless.

Hurley also stopped to reload his gun, a wry smile playing on his lips. "We were so happy at first, now we're just as disappointed."

Indeed, Keller must have thought he'd get his hands on the weapons and probably already planned a celebration. Having everything fall apart like this must have been worse than if he'd been killed.

As Keller got off the truck, the others gathered around him. "Mr. Keller, we've been tricked. Let's get out of here."

"What about those people inside?"

"Kill them. You two go in and take care of it, then come out quickly," Keller snarled fiercely.

Two men armed with guns headed towards the building.

"Hurley, keep them busy here. I'll go rescue them," Alice said as she watched the two men leave, immediately guessing their intentions.

After all, Fletcher and the others may not have betrayed the base, and they were still needed to transport the weapons back.

"Be careful."

Alice nodded and, with the cover of the night, made her way towards the building.Seeing her safely depart, Hurley no longer hid. He briskly jumped onto the truck, looking down at the concealed figures. "Stop hiding, I'm here."

Upon hearing this, the people taking cover behind the truck were startled. They looked up to see Hurley standing on the front of the vehicle, his gun pointed directly at them.

Suddenly, the man burst into a sinister smile. Before they could react, the gunshots mercilessly rang out, blood splattering on the ground.

Keller ran as fast as he could, realizing he couldn't take on Hurley. He hurried towards a nearby sedan.

Just as he got into the car, Hurley shot out the tires.

Keller cursed angrily, only able to exit from the other side of the car. As soon as his foot touched the ground, a gun was pressed against his forehead.

He looked up, meeting Alice's ambiguous gaze. "You..."

Ten minutes later, Keller was tied up and tossed aside.

"He might still be useful. Keeping him around might yield some valuable information from the R country," Alice remarked.

"Aren't you coming out yet?" Alice glanced at the house.
