— Alexi POV — 

"I don't know if this is a bad idea or a good one," I told my wife as I held her hand. 

"It's family lunch, a very small and toned down family lunch," Lilith said as she did her best to assure me.

I closed my eyes and nodded.

It was a small lunch, just the grandparents and our closest cousins.

Our parents weren't invited.

To be honest I didn't understand why Grandpa let my parents stay despite what they had done.

And while I knew I had the power to send them away, I didn't want to deal with that.

"Will we tell them?" Lilith asked me.

"About which?" I asked my wife. "There are a lot of things we have to tell our family."

"Maybe we should start with the family name change?" she asked. "That will be the tougher battle."

I kissed the top of her head and nodded.

"I'll follow your lead," I assured her.
