章節 232: Chapter 232: The Living Dead

Sounds filled the night at the airport.

York, declining help from others, grabbed his backpack in one hand and his phone in the other, silently walking into the nearby VIP passage.

"Have you been following the filming crew to the shooting site recently?" Walking through the deserted VIP passage, York recalled all the information Mrs. Camille had shared, speaking indifferently.

"Are you still shooting now?"

"No...no shooting."

For some reason, hearing the priest's emotionless words, Saxton obediently replied.

He subconsciously glanced at Amelia and mouthed, "It's Father York's call."

"Tell me, who is the main character of your next shoot?" York's expression remained unchanged, and although his pace seemed slow, he moved quickly.

"Forget it, is your girlfriend there?"

Saxton looked at Amelia, hesitated for a moment, but then honestly said, "Yes, she's right next to me."

Based on his immediate intuition and understanding of the priest, the call from the priest likely concerned a very important matter.

York continued out of the passage, stepping into the open area and heading towards the church's private jet emblazoned with the church's insignia, striding forward.

"Give the phone to her."

The tone was unmistakable.

Saxton, recognizing this tone, didn't refuse. He was about to hand over the phone when Amelia took it first.

"Hello, Father York, my name is Amelia." Amelia introduced herself and then, with a thoughtful expression, asked, "Do you need something from me?"

By this time, York, under the bowed gestures of the clergy nearby, stepped onto the gangway leading into the cabin.

"I have two questions for you."

Amelia's brows furrowed slightly, a sense of unease emerging within her.

York didn't care how his tone sounded and continued.

"The first question is, were you born with the ability to see things others can't, even communicate with spirits?"

As his words fell, Amelia's pupils shrank slightly, but she didn't refuse to answer. Instead, she quickly responded.

"Yes, Father."

Confirming this, York walked into the cabin door, heading straight for his seat, and continued with his questions.

"The second question, your next filming plan, whether you've shot it or not, please tell me everything."

Hearing this, Amelia instinctively looked towards Saxton, whose expression had changed, both thinking of the incident at Yellow Bridge Church immediately.

"Okay, Father."

Amelia took a deep breath. Though they had already refused the shoot and even decided to head home, she still shared everything about the invitation from Rinnie.

"The next scheduled shoot was from an audience invitation, a woman named Rinnie. Something strange happened in her family, and she wanted us to come and film. She's the eldest in a family of seven..."

Hearing this, York, seated comfortably, gently placed his backpack beside him, sighing internally.

As expected, better safe than sorry. It seemed the cultists had likely targeted Amelia from early on.

"Listen to me now."

York cut off Amelia's explanation, his tone turning cold.

Amelia felt a shiver run down her spine, halting her explanation midway.

"Whatever you're doing now, stop immediately," York said calmly. "You're in danger, likely already targeted by some dangerous elements. As for why it's dangerous, I'll explain when I get there. For now, listen to me and head to the nearest church immediately..."

At this, Amelia seemed to grasp the gravity of the situation and suddenly looked up.

...

A car had just entered an alley, its passenger a middle-aged man with an expressionless face and an aura of coldness about him.

He walked into a shop, holding a black umbrella again.

The shop's interior was cleared out, the floor covered in the markings of an extremely sinister ritual circle.

Surrounding the circle was a group of people in black, their faces cold and composed.

"Two things. First, create chaos to divert the attention of the churches everywhere. Second, capture the target."

The man with the black umbrella stood at the entrance, surveying the surroundings and the group before speaking calmly.

"Begin."

As his words fell, a man from Thailand walked out of the crowd to the center of the circle, spreading his arms towards the crowd.

At that moment, a chilling light flashed.

Each person in the crowd drew a sharp knife.

Without a word, someone stepped forward and plunged the knife deep into the Thai man's right shoulder.

With a 'puff,' blood sprayed, quickly soaking his chest and the blade.

Yet, the Thai man's expression remained unchanged, allowing the attacker to withdraw the bloody knife and step away. He even closed his eyes, smiling as he welcomed the next person.

The second person stepped forward, again without a word, and stabbed the man in the left shoulder.

Blood kept flowing, running down the man's feet into the center of the circle.

The third person stabbed him in the abdomen.

The fourth, directly into his chest.

The fifth, into his neck...

The sixth...

Eventually, the Thai man standing in the center of the circle became nothing more than a bleeding, human-shaped mass. His continuously leaking blood drenched the entire circle.

A heavy scent of blood enveloped the inside of the shop, and the crowd, their faces, feet, and clothes stained with blood, began muttering something.

The scene was extremely eerie, sending chills down the spine.

At this moment, the man with the black umbrella finally discarded it, stepped into the circle, directly onto the blood-soaked body, knelt down, closed his eyes, and raised his arms towards the sky.

"Great Lord, your faithful servant offers endless respect to you...

...Offering the soul and blood of the being before us as a sacrifice, we beg for a sliver of your insignificant power..."

As his words ended, the sinister circle lightly glowed, seemingly absorbing the blood and residual soul energy from the ground.

A vague scream echoed.

The void seemed to solidify, tiny blood droplets hanging motionlessly in the air.

An unknown dark power rushed into the middle-aged man through the brightly lit circle, leaking out from his orifices, spreading quickly around him from his suddenly twisted and agonized face.

Streams of dark energy floated towards various places, drifting around the mall.

One by one, bodies buried deep beneath the ground suddenly opened their void, empty black eyes.

"..."

"What's happening up ahead..."

Pedestrians on the street, watching the ground suddenly burst open, were hesitant and panicked.

Then, a skeletal hand suddenly reached out towards the ground.

Witnessing this scene, both passersby and nearby vendors were dumbfounded.

The next moment, under their gaze, a ragged figure clawed its way out of the burst ground...
