章節 100: Chapter 100 - Arriving in Romania (Edited)

That afternoon, York did not break his promise and began to organize his equipment for the business trip.

This time, the gear he prepared was different from before, with light weapons shifting towards heavier firepower.

After all, with the double buffs, he was no longer limited by materials.

Weapons that were ineffective against evil spirits or demons became equally effective under his blessing, with only the inherent lethality differing.

He prepared an MK14 grenade launcher, loaded with thirty 40×51mm grenades.

Night and day, he enchanted them with a total of 250 points, equating to a 250-fold increase, and blessed 600 points of holy C4 timed bombs.

The yield was about 6 tons of TNT, which was York deliberately holding back to avoid causing too much trouble.

Besides these, there was a SHAK-12 heavy assault rifle with a magazine capacity of 20 rounds, carrying 160 rounds of 12.7mm caliber bullets.

Capable of killing large animals, the Rhino revolver and its 60 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition.

This combination, now familiar to him, featured SHAK-12 loaded with 12.7PS-12B armor-piercing bullets weighing 16 grams, effective up to 300 meters, capable of striking targets protected by heavy armor or hiding behind obstacles.

Holy grenades also became an inseparable part of his arsenal, convenient due to their small size and carrying forty in total. Due to limited enchantment and blessing points, each holy grenade was enhanced with a base ten points of double buffs.

Following the grenades, there was the ever-reliable RPG-7 with four warheads, two thermobaric and two high-explosive.

And so on with a series of heavy firepower. — Despite the bulk, as he was on a mission for the church, a single phone call ensured everything was delivered to Romania.

Furthermore, York also enjoyed the VIP service only available to the ultra-rich or powerful.

From his home, he was escorted by a private car directly to Kennedy International Airport.

Despite Kennedy International being one of the world's major aviation hubs and among the busiest, most expensive, and largest airports globally, the church's arrangements allowed even an ordinary priest like him to enjoy a VIP passageway without queuing or waiting, directly boarding a chartered flight.

With seamless service, York was soon on a direct flight to Romania.

The sky was clear, a day conducive to deep thought.

Lying in his comfortable seat, York gazed at the seemingly boundless blue sky through the window, slowly closing his eyes.

The distance between America and Romania is not short, spanning approximately 9053 kilometers.

Even by plane, this journey takes over ten hours.

For York, it was a long trip, an opportunity to rest and recover from days of mental exhaustion. — [11:49]

Romania.

At noon local time, Bucharest International Airport welcomed a chartered plane bearing the church's cross insignia.

Outside the airport, under the watchful eyes of the public, York got into the car that came to pick him up.

"Father York, my name is Esau."

Sitting in the driver's seat was a middle-aged monk who greeted him respectfully.

"I'm tasked with taking you to the Lutheran Bishop's Cathedral, where Novice Nun Eileen will also be waiting for you."

"Understood."

York glanced at the knight's sword next to Esau. Monks, although clergy, primarily serve to protect and assist priests.

"Monk Esau, have my items arrived?"

As Esau skillfully operated the car, starting it while nodding respectfully.

"They have been delivered to your room."

"That's good."

After nearly eleven hours on a plane, York let out a sigh of relief and stopped inquiring, continuing to rest his eyes, waiting for this middle-aged monk to take him to his destination. — "Father York, we have arrived."

Esau's voice awakened York, who immediately opened his eyes and looked out the window.

A majestic and solemn building appeared in his view.

Constructed of sturdy stone, from up close, only the towering spires and majestic rooflines were visible.

"The Lutheran Bishop's Cathedral," York squinted, recalling information about the cathedral.

As mentioned before, the church has hierarchical clergy ranks: deacons, priests, and bishops.

Churches also vary in rank.

A parish church, like the Pluto Church York oversees, can accommodate deacons, such as nuns and monks, serving the local parishioners with rituals and worship.

Above these are cathedrals and grand cathedrals of different standards.

Bishops typically reside in cathedrals and grand cathedrals.

This Lutheran Bishop's Cathedral is overseen by Archbishop Rovshan Matos, governing a province's territory. — As the car entered through a spacious archway adorned with biblical scenes and saints, it wasn't long before York, guided by Monk Esau, arrived at his room for the day.

A bed, sofa, desk, and chairs, simple yet fully equipped.

"Father York, my task is complete. Others will be responsible for the following matters."

"Understood."

York, accustomed to such arrangements, nodded in farewell.

Watching the composed monk leave, York closed the door, turned around, and located his belongings.

"Should be untouched."

Inspecting the luggage and backpacks, York checked each pack's small mechanism to ensure no tampering. Relieved, he sat on the sofa, took out his phone, and dialed a number.

Father Mike's son, Hili.

For this random mission, he needed this guy as his transportation.

Though mediocre in many aspects, Hili was recognized for his prowess in handling vehicles.

Perhaps due to family heritage, like his father, Father Mike, who devoted himself to research in hopes of winning a Nobel Prize, Hili also inherited a talent for invention. Unlike his father, Hili's most notable gift lay in vehicles.

Whether on land or in the sky, there wasn't a vehicle he couldn't operate, even claiming he could pilot a fighter jet.

One second, two seconds.

The call connected.

"Father York?"

The next second, the voice became excited, speaking rapidly.

"Right, Father York, I heard you're coming to Romania for business? The old man said if you're coming, I should assist, Are we teaming up again?"

York couldn't help but smile at the memories with this guy.

"Yes, I've arrived."

"Really?"

Hili's voice through the phone was filled with excitement.

"Great! Where are you? I'll come right over."

"The Lutheran Bishop's Cathedral," York considered, probably needing to meet Archbishop Rovshan later and the novice nun arranged by the old man.

"Come pick me up later."

"Sure!"

Hili's voice remained excited, followed by a series of bangs.

Continuous, rhythmic.

York slightly raised his eyebrows, recognizing the sound as familiar gunfire.

Then came the sound of bullets hitting something, followed by a wolf-like howl.

Next, a mix of noise and panic-filled human voices.

Then, messy footsteps and the sound of objects falling.

All these sounds blended into a chaotic noise.

York easily imagined the scene of pedestrians fleeing in panic.

Bang, bang, bang! More gunshots.

"The situation seems intense, this guy..." York shook his head, preparing to speak, but Hili's voice preempted him from the phone,

The incident wasn't about him; instead, Hili seemed to have encountered something interesting, brimming with curiosity.

"Father, I've stumbled upon something fascinating."

York instinctively asked, "What is it?"

"I might have encountered werewolves and vampires."
