Kir recognized the voice and the distorted, flickering form.

It was the same construct from the arena.

"Sorry, we can't," Kir said as he continued past the construct, drawing Kangetsu from his storage with one hand before bending to help Noir up.

"Got one of those for me?" the older man asked with a nervous chuckle.

Kir opened his mouth for a second before settling for a nod. "Two, actually."

One by one he pulled out his wingbone knives, handing them to Noir. "These are more like focuses for spells, but they'll stab in a pinch."
