" Calm down Mia . This is your cousin he'll be escorting you back home " Hannah said as she approached and scratched one of her ears.
She purred for a while before noticing Cole's amused gaze . She frowned but there was a hint of a small blush as she gently pushed her grandma away.
' Hmm , cousin what's your name " She said with as much of superiority as a 12 year old could muster.
" My name is Cole , just Cole " He said.
Mia approached Cole and sniffed him.
" You don't look like a fox kin to me " She said arrogantly before being hit at the head by Hannah.
" Ouch , What was that for ?" She said looking at Hannah.
" For disturbing our guest " Hannah said.
" Hmph, he shouldn't be here though. I already have escorts. " Mia said puffing her cheeks and looking away at Hannah with her arms crossed.
" Cheeky brat , he's your cousin and you'll be heading there together. He also has to see his family doesn't he ?" Hannah said.
" I- I suppose so " Mia faltered.
" But that doesn't mean I like him , he looks mean " Mia said.
" That's alright, he really is mean " Hannah said glancing at Cole for a reaction but she was met with an indifferent gaze.
' Doesn't like kids huh ?' Hannah thought to herself.
The rest of the day involved the Hannah and Mia talking to each other until finally Mia drifted to sleep.
Hannah took her to her bed then went back to wear Cole was.
He was currently seated at the table reading the grimoire she had given him a while back.
This made her sneer but she didn't say anything.
" Stand up boy , I show you to where you'll be sleeping. "
Cole put the grimoire back to where it was and followed her.
As they climbed the stairs, Cole couldn't help but ask.
" Why lie to the kid ? " He asked.
" Reliance and Trust. " Those were the only words she said.
Cole didn't say anything as the reached a room that Hannah opened.
The room was a small one with a small bed that could hardly even fit one person. The blankets themselves consisted of animal fur. It was lighted by a round white ball that suspended on air.
" This is where you'll be sleeping, Wake up early tomorrow for tomorrow is your day to start moving " Hannah said.
This slightly shocked him because he expected a few days for preparation to move.
" Don't worry about the necessities for tomorrow I'll sort them " She said as she walked away leaving Cole.
Cole looked to the round ball curiously. He wanted to take it and study it however he needed to look slightly more native to this land and he didn't know if this was a common occurrence throughout.
He sighed as he removed his eyes on it.
" Another day perhaps" He thought.
He removed his boots as he slid into the blankets.
The bed that seemed would give him a hard night was surprisingly comfy. He hadn't experienced this level of comfort in a long while and this made him slightly smile as he drifted asleep.

A small boy of about 8 years that looked like Cole suddenly opened his eyes.
He found himself in a forest, the trees were withered and most of them dead.
No light shined in the forest and some parts of the ground was damp with twigs and logs scattered around.
" Mama !! " Young Cole shouted.
" Mama am scared, help me!!! " Young Cole shouted as he started having a panic attack looking at the area with fear in his eyes.
Suddenly a flame appeared at a slightly far distance away from him.
" Mom ?! " He shouted towards the light "
Suddenly a melodious voice started singing.
It always seems so quiet ~
In the dark~

" Mom !! Mom !! " Young Cole shouted as she ran to the light.
I used to think I was bold ~

Young Cole tripped on a log falling on the damp soil but he quickly stood up and continued ran.

Raging flames consumed a large house as the previous young Cole was replaced by the 18 year old Cole looking at the mansion in a kneeled state.
Fire reflected in his black eyes.
He looked at the fire with a dead expression, no crying, no shouting, just blank.
His eyes looked soulless.
Suddenly the fire went off and it was as if the house wasn't there to begin with .

" Ah !!! " He shouted as he jumped awake.
He looked at his sorrounding with frantic eyes, his breath ragged. However his eyes slowly became less frantic and his heartbeat steadied.
" Am ok " He murmured to himself.
His eyes slowly lost color as he remembered his dream but then they suddenly burst with a flame those eyes grew accustomed to .
