"Thank you for the help. Would you like some drinks?"
"Uhmm… then a cold water."
"Okay."
He has no idea why he is assisting a stranger, but after learning that she is an acquaintance of his aunt, he is unable to refuse to assist her.
"Ms. Froze, can you tell me where you met my aunt?"
After she gave him a cup of cold water and drink it, Alex immediately asked what he wanted to know.
"I will start by introducing myself. My name is Anna Froze, and I serve as the guild leader's secretary. You can figure out why I am your aunt's acquaintance, right?"
"Yeah."
Alex is aware that the guild leader is his aunt's childhood best friend, but he is unfamiliar with her personally.
In fact, he does not even know the name of the City's guild leader.
He could just ask his aunt, but he is not particularly interested.
"Now that you are here, would you like to stay for a while or—"
"Your invitation is very tempting, but I need to go somewhere."
He understands that she is being polite, so he immediately excuses himself.
"I see, but now we are acquaintances, and since you helped me today, you can ask me for help as well."
"I will remember that. Thank you."
…
Following their brief meeting, Alex immediately proceeded to his destination.
The adventurers' training area is located in the back of the guild building.
He has been visiting this area for several days in search of his magic copy.
The adventurer's training area is similar to a free gym in that anyone, including non-adventurers, can train here.
After all, staying fit is not a sin.
Anyway, he did not come here to use the barbells or the gravity chamber.
He is here in the open area to observe the mages as they practice their magic.
However, it appears that today is an unusual day.
While on his way here, he heard that some newcomers who graduated from Academy City and Royal School had returned to May City.
When a student graduates, they are usually stationed in their hometown and rarely have to live somewhere else.
He can tell from the spells of the newbies that they are truly newbies.
They are overly concerned with encrypted weave.
If this is a battle with another human, they may lose immediately.
"Come to think of it, where is that guy?"
For the past few days, there has been an adventurer who has always enjoyed watching the other adventurers.
That person always explains why or how a battle takes place, or how a spell works.
This man has become somewhat of a mentor to him, but he has no idea what his name is.
However, he is grateful that he always responds to his questions.
Anyway, it appears that he will not be present today, so he has decided to closely monitor the magic of the new adventurers.
…
While leaving the training area, he happened to see the team of the guy he mentioned earlier.
When they saw him approaching them, they turned away.
Now that he looks at them closely, he notices that they are very messy and have blood on their clothes, and their team of five consists of only three people.
They remember Alex because he is always present when they call their teammate.
He hesitated to ask because the person he was talking to earlier was not present, but he eventually did.
"Is he…"
One of the teammates nodded but did not speak.
He stopped talking to them because they did not seem to have the energy to talk to anyone.
The training area is very close to the clinic, so they pass him because they need to be looked at right now.
Walking back home, he considered how easily a life could be taken.
He decided to take the long route and lament for the time being.
…
Guild Building.
"This… and this…"
Angelina took a brief pause in her movement while doing her paperwork.
She is so busy that Anna is not here today, but luckily, there is someone who can assist her.
"Do not worry, it is only today, and you will be back to your regular job tomorrow."
Blonde hair with curly tips and red eyes.
Beatrice Heartwell is filling in for Anna at work today.
"Do not worry, it is only today, and you will be back to your regular job tomorrow."
Talking to herself, she appears to dislike the job despite its high salary.
Angelina looks at her and sighs in disappointment.
Beatrice was supposed to be hired as her second secretary, but she groveled and asked not to be one.
Her skills are equal to Anna's, but she does not want a mentally demanding job.
Angelina does not want her skill to be thrown out, so she hired her as a receptionist and Anna's substitute.
That is her limit, and Beatrice immediately accepts the offer.
The papers were not too many today, so they were able to finish before noon.
"Finally!"
Beatrice stretched her body as soon as they finished.
"Good work."
Angelina complimented her.
Despite her being noisy and murmuring about not wanting to continue with this job, she had completed the majority of it, so she did not mind.
Because they had no work for the rest of the day, Angelina asked if she wanted to eat with her.
"Let us eat together, my treat."
"So what are you waiting for, Ms. Boss? Let us go!"
Beatrice becomes energized as they leave the guild building.
…
When they entered the restaurant, they immediately took a seat and placed their orders.
Although this location is quite far from the guild building, they have no work for the remainder of the day, so they choose a restaurant with a delicious meal and, more importantly, delicious sweets and pastry.
They are so satisfied that simply saying "satisfied" is insufficient.
Finally, they leave the restaurant with a smile on their faces, holding their full stomach.
*Thud
Someone collides with them and falls down.
"Sorry, I did not see you."
The person who collided said.
"Do not worry about it."
Angelina saw a boy with black and white hair.
The boy gets up and walks away.
"That boy looks familiar..."
Angelina asked herself if she knew him, but she had no idea, so she moved on.
"Let us head back."
"Okay."
