As night replace the day, the monster hordes stopped their attack, retreating few miles away from the various fortifications, in view, but far enough to not get hit by any barrage of spells.

With the monsters stopped attacking, the soldiers and adventurers took the chance to relax and rest, many of them tired after one whole day of intense fighting.

"I have never been this tired my entire life! I rather repeat training under the Captain again than this!" a soldier complained as his shirt was drenched from his sweat.

"Well, better tired than dead. I lose two friends just now!" another soldier replied, a sour look on his face.

"Sorry. But still, I am glad the monsters did not attack us at night. I don't think I can move after this." the first soldier said, taking some much needed breather.
