Natalie stood by the grand gates of the mansion, the noonday sun beating down on the imposing iron bars. She didn't have to wait long. Kevin's Ford sped around the corner tires skidding against the gravel driveway.
He really looks miserable.
Natalie thought to herself as she watched Kevin's approach. His ghostlike figure parked haphazardly, the Ford jolting to a stop. Natalie approached slowly masking her concern. She walked across the front of the car, smoothed the fabric of her skirt, then opened the front passenger seat and sat down next to him leaving it open just so he'd remember how angry she still was at him.
Silence dominated the atmosphere in the Ford with Natalie struggling with her frustration. It was exhausting to see Kevin looking this miserable and not even trying to comfort him. While Kevin's green eyes flicked towards her, and his fingers tightened on the steering wheel as if he'd hug her if he didn't grip the wheel that hard.
