Natalie buckled her seat belt while she watched her fiancé cross the front of the car.

"What's left?" she asked when he sat behind the driving wheel.

"The most important task," he said as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"What?"

"Feeding my bride. You know what they say about a hungry bride, right?"

"Haha, no, what do they say about her?"

His eyes sparkled, "A cranky bride."

She laughed, "I thought that's what they say about hungry babies?"

He shook his head and started the engine, "My sources are to be trusted. I am feeding my bride and making sure that she is happy."

Something changed in his face, and he looked reluctant.

"What?" she encouraged.

"Do you mind if we dine at the hotel where I'm staying for tonight?"

So he won't be going home for the night. That was understandable.

She smiled sweetly at him. "As long as we're dining together, I really don't mind where we eat."
