Calix's breath almost hitched upon discerning the desire in Leslie's voice. Despite longing for this moment to come, her health and willingness were his topmost priority.

Locking his eyes into hers, Calix's heart was tinged with regret. He wondered if he actually pushed Leslie too soon.

"Sweetheart, are you sure?"

Calix's voice was tender as ever yet, worry and hesitation lacing his tone. The months of watching Leslie being in pain due to her lack of strength and bad health still weighed heavily in his mind.

Soft chuckles escaped Leslie's lips, followed by a helpless smile. Delight swelled her heart as she was basked under Calix's genuine concern. 

"Are you backing away now?" asked Leslie teasingly. Grasping one side of Calix's face, she whispered, "Honey, I want you tonight. And... Dr. Mo said I'm ready."
