Krez faced a decision: he could either head north to the Voights family territory or west to the Supreme sect's territory. If this were before he acquired the basic Qi gathering technique, he would have chosen the Voight territory. After all, his main base of power is body cultivation, and a region known for its body cultivators seemed like the best bet to find rare resources and a body cultivation technique.

Kraz decided to head north to the Voights territory. The land of body cultivation. Having gained the basic Qi gathering technique it didn't really change anything. With the Gamer talent unlocked and it being attached to his body cultivation, that is what he needed to focus on. While he would start practicing soul cultivation, it would be just an auxiliary compared to body cultivation for now.

Krez's journey north unfolds as the landscape undergoes a remarkable transformation. The once temperate surroundings give way to a much hotter climate, marked by the appearance of cacti and a sandy terrain. Amidst the challenges of battling various beasts, Krez eventually finds himself in an oasis-like area. The burning land of body cultivations seems to test not only his physical abilities but also his adaptability to the changing environment.

Resting in the oasis, Krez takes advantage of the water source and the fruits around it to replenish his supplies. Anticipating the scorching temperatures, he imagines the readings on a thermometer soaring above 100, possibly even reaching 120. With the beasts growing stronger along his journey, Krez wisely decides to invest time in upgrading his attributes, ensuring he's prepared for any challenges ahead.

Krez's dedication to battles and continuous encounters with beasts have resulted in significant attribute gains through multiple level-ups.He chooses to enhance his capabilities during moments of respite, avoiding potential drawbacks in the midst of battle. Preparedness becomes his priority in this evolving and demanding environment.

Krez pulled up his character page. After numerous glorious PiPs, his screen reflected his current atributes.

Krez nodded with approval he could feel the power coursing threw his body.

With Krez finished with his attributes, he sat down, recalling the basic Qi gathering technique. He had practiced it every day but wasn't making much progress. The first step was to sense the energy around him and pull it into his body, forming a Dantian. Each stage further enhanced the Dantian until it's fully formed stage 9 Qi gathering. Only then could one enter the Meridian opening stage, By opening one Meridian.

When Krez entered this world, the mechanical voice didn't lie. His talent in cultivation was abysmally low. The basic Qi gathering technique claimed it's quite common to be able to feel the Qi in the air within a day or two. It had been a week since Krez started, and he still couldn't detect the Qi.

Krez sighed, contemplating whether he could start soul cultivation without one of his other talents. Hopefully, The Chef or The Reader would compensate for his lack of cultivation talent. The challenge lay in not knowing when he would unlock them, as they were currently sealed until he got stronger.

The basic Qi gathering technique also contained information about soul cultivation. Krez found it somewhat peculiar to refer to it as soul cultivation. In his past life, having read numerous wuxia books, he would have expected it to be called Qi cultivation, while soul cultivation would be something entirely different.

After reading the information, Krez understood that as one progressed down the path of gaining Qi, it would strengthen one's soul. Eventually, the cultivator would be able to delve into the depths of their soul, understanding it on a whole different level and ultimately transforming it into a nascent soul that would reside in the dantian.

This realization made Krez understand that he shouldn't entirely rely on the knowledge from fantasy books he read in his previous life, as the information might not be entirely accurate. However, some of the insights did propel his understanding forward, especially the description of the basic function of a dantian, which Krez found highly interesting.

The dantian's main function is to hold a cultivator's cultivation base, working a lot like a rechargeable battery from Krez's old world. Using Qi would drain the dantian, and it would passively recover. He could also speed up recovery by actively cultivating, pulling the energy in from the surroundings to fill up the dantian.

Krez realized he was getting off track, so he cleared his mind and tryed focusing on feeling the energy in the air. He was sitting with his legs crossed, arms in front of his stomach, forming a circle with his hands. He found the posture a little uncomfortable, but the Qi gathering technique said it was the most optimal position.

Just then, he sensed a flicker of energy. As soon as he did a new world opened, like two swords clashing, sparks of energy flashed around him. Now, all he had to do was guide one energy spark into the position where his dantian should be, forming the ember of his dantian.

Krez's excitement was on top of the world with his ability to now sense the Qi in the air. He now could see the path ahead to soul cultivation, a grin plastered on his face. He focused on a spark of Qi, imagining it floating towards him. He concentrated, envisioned, willed with all his might but he couldn't bring it towards him at all. Krez let out a loud "FUCK YOU"
