Evans POV I knocked on her bedroom door, "I'm almost done, Dad, you can come in," she replied seeming busy. I opened the door immediately and rushed inside, I thought she had a problem, probably sick or something but none. She sat on her bed, staring at the mirror, painting her lips with red lipstick, she was applying makeup, and I was thinking she had been kidnapped or probably run out of the house. "Nora!," I screamed at her fuming in anger."Dad," she called less concerned."At least, you would have told me you will be here, doing your makeover. Do you how worried I was?""You shouldn't have, Dad. Let's go get breakfast before it's cold," she said walking out of the room with her tiny legs. God! This girl won't kill me before my time. "Don't forget to eat your lunch doing break, and make sure to finish it," I said to her as she stepped out of the car."Bye, Dad!" She said smiling sweetly and then run down to her class, her friends rushed to her immediately. We finally got out of home without being late, a nine-year-old child doing make-up, for what! Probably just for her crush to give her attention, funny. I drove out of the school compound, heading to my company. The manager in the other company isn't faithful at all, I just need to get him replaced by someone faithful. He doesn't do his work probably, and the funds of the company won't stay away from his pocket, which means he's eating much of the company's money, and if care isn't taken, the company may fail. "Good morning, sire," my workers greeted me as I walk past them, I'm not a ride boss, so, I replied to their greetings tenderly. I love my work because her obedient and hard-working, the tends to adhere to the rules and regulations of the company and I never fail to pay them on time. I walked to my office, my cleaner has already finished her work. "Good morning, Sir," my secretary greeted, grinning from ear to ear. She's cute and scintillating but I sometimes don't like her behavior around men, I detest it. She's always all over me, giving me signals I don't understand and don't want to understand."Yeah, hope you slept well?""Of course yes, sir. How about you?""I slept well. What are my schedules for today," I asked, taking a sit."Give me five minutes, sir, I will get back to you," she said rushing out of my office. I've told her countless times to always knock before coming in but she will never listen. I checked the files on my table and noticed I had little or no work to do this morning, I started to call my mom, I know she will be at her work place, busy as always. I took my phone and Dial her number, "Hello my darling," her lovely voice came up from the other side."Morning, Mom. Hope you slept well," I asked smiling, not as if she will it but she will feel it."I did, then you called, I'm so sure to have a good day today," I felt her smirking childishly, just like she always does."Hope everything is going well over there? How's Dad?""Yes, sure. Oh! You mean that old man of yours? He's at his company, busy, busy as always, he doesn't even make time for me," that's my mum, she so much likes complaining. If I didn't call her, I guessed she would have called before the end of the day and complained, not as if I can even help get her problem solved. Dad is a busy man, and barely has time for us, but always have time for his granddaughter, tho. "Mum, stop complaining, you guys are just the same.""But I'm far better than him son. At least I get to call you almost every day, probably two times in three days, but when last did your dad call? He only goes over to your daughter's school and has enough time with her, doing break.""Okay, mum. There's nothing we can do to change that, let's just endure in peace, okay?""Sure, son. I will call you later in the day, and be sure to speak with my granddaughter, Hope she's fine?""Yes, Mum.""Okay, have a good day," she said and hung up, even before I could reply. "Sir, here is your schedule for today," my secretary said immediately after Mom hung up."Don't tell me you have been here, this old time," I asked breathlessly." No...o, I just came in," she said giggling nervously."I've told you countless times to always knock before entering my office, are you that dense? Don't you understand things?" "Okay. Sir, you have a meeting with the USA officials, and it's by 10 am," she said, bluntly ignoring what I said. Who's this annoying secretary of his?
