"Eric, this way. Can you hear my voice?"

Meria called out to the general, hoping he would find him and Meena soon.

Luckily, Eric was quick on his feet and found them in record time. 

He also had the terrified priest with him, and Eric kept a tight grip on the man so that he would not be able to escape easily.

"Is everyone alright? The fire did not harm you, right? Saintess, what about you? Did you see where the fire came from?"

Eric asked as they all escaped to safety.

"I don't know where the fire started, but I know there was a weird smell inside that room. It was almost as if someone was waiting for us to enter before starting the fire."

Meria's words immediately caused everyone in the hallway to look at the priest.

"I-I did not do anything. Why are you all looking at me? I had nothing to do with the fire."

The priest yelled, trying to get the people to believe him.
