'The emperor is quiet. Have I seen Emperor Kai this quite before? Should I start a topic to distract the emperor?'

Meria needed help deciding if he wanted to ask his question or not.

He was about to give up when the emperor surprised him by suddenly speaking.

"What do you think about the Saintess? Personally speaking, I cannot stand him and his arrogant ways. But that might also not be the case for you, right?"

The emperor asked while looking out of the window. 

'Is this a tricky question? Am I supposed to lie and say that I don't like the Saintess?'

Meria took in a deep breath and decided to speak the truth.

"The Saintess…is weird but in a good way. I was surprised that he was male and an alpha to boost, and I was even more surprised when he asked me to be his guard. Don't you find his behaviour to be eccentric as well…"

The emperor was finally looking at him with the same sulky look.
