章節 5: The Ambition And Drive To Surpass

The Heavenly Sword Villa was something unlike I had ever seen before. Central London was more impressive, sure, but this place was surprisingly wonderful despite the lack of technology. Actually, one could argue that they were advanced too… instead of using electricity and science, they did everything with profound energy.

I observed every little detail in awe… this was like cultivation heaven compared to the Blue Wind Profound Palace! It was truly a place worthy of being the number one ranked sect in the Blue Wind Empire. It was also a sect that descended from the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region… one of the world's four superpowers.

"My eyes were filled with wonder the first time I saw it, too." Qin Wushang chuckled.

"It's not just wonder…" I grinned slightly. "It's motivation. Drive."

"You wish to join the Heavenly Sword Villa?" Qin Wushang nodded, smiling slightly. "A lofty ambition, indeed. Though I do feel that you may have the chance-"

"No… not join it." I shook my head.

"Hmm?" Qin Wushang raised an eyebrow.

"I want to surpass it!" I replied with enthusiasm. If my eyes ever could glow, they would now. "Why can't our Blue Wind Profound Palace be better? Are their disciples inherently superior to the point that we can't even fathom beating them? I don't believe so!"

"We can be better… and we will! Starting with the younger generation to the old heads, one day, the Blue Wind Imperial Family will hold its head high as the mightiest force in its nation!"

Cang Yue turned to me, her eyes widening slightly.

"... Your spirit is admirable, your highness." Qin Wushang's lips curled into a smile. "I want to believe in what you say but it's not as simple as you make it sound."

"Being the best is never simple…" I shook my head. "But if we give up on hope, if we believe that it is impossible… doesn't it make certain that it is? Belief breeds hope, hope breeds struggle and struggle breeds success! If everyone gives up on hope and does not do everything in their power to improve, how will we ever be able to hold our heads high?"

"You are wise beyond your years, your highness." Qin Wushang nodded. "That much is true… but few people have a mindset like yours. Even fewer retain it after being defeated miserably once."

The three disciples seemed to be affected by my words… a little. Big sis looked like she rated them, too.

'Words are just words… like Yoggy says. Action speaks louder, in the end.'

(Yogg-Saron: Did you just call me fucking Yoggy?)

(James: Yes.)

So… the Blue Wind Profound Palace's disciples did not come to play. They bottled almost every qualifier match and in terrible fashion. Towards the end, they did not even bother fighting and conceded from the very beginning. The rage in my heart was incomparable… my passionate heart could not take the amount of sheer bullshit that I had to witness over just a few days.

"Well, at least we get to witness the rest of the fights…" One of the disciples shrugged, smiling slightly. "We were never going to get far anyway. There were so many strong profound practitioners this time around…"

"I suppose you're right." Another of the trashcans agreed. "No point in beating ourselves about it, the result was pretty much pre-determined. It's all over now… we can move on with our lives."

"Speaking of which, I'm going to join the military once I graduate and reach the spirit profound realm… you?"

"I'd like to be an instructor in the Blue Wind Profound Palace, I suppose."

Cang Yue wasn't too happy with their goofy attitude… though she understood why they were acting like this. The elders didn't see anything wrong with it, either. But… I did. I hated people like them. Losers. Happy losers, at that.

"Damn, we lost 3-0… it is what it is." Harry sighed. "James… why are you still on the ground?"

"We lost three-nill." I replied, closing my eyes. "Three FUCKING nill. If you can't tell, I'm fucking fuming."

"We just couldn't keep possession and move up the pitch, that's all. Besides, it's just one practice game with another school. It doesn't count towards anything."

"It's not just a fucking practice game you baboon." I opened my eyes, staring at him. "They think they're better than us and you're smiling around, shaking their hands and exchanging hugs. They shit on us and you still have it in you to smile at them. Why don't you bend over and suck them off, too?"

"... James, you take football way too seriously."

"It's not just football… it's about mentality." I pointed my index finger at my head. "Look at the rest of these trashcans, they're all happy about it being the weekend. They'll probably go off and play fifa or some shit, do their homework, maybe go out to the park and not think about this game again. But I… I can't let shit like this go."

"We HAVE to beat them 3-nill or worse."

"Yeah, okay." Harry brushed me off.

"It's not 'yeah, okay', Harry. It's YES CAPTAIN!"

"But… you're not the team captain anymore-"

"I do not give a FUCK what John tells you, I'm the leader of this fucking team and I'm going to carry every last one of you sorry losers to victory. I'll do it ALONE if I have to."

"..."

I took a deep breath, looking around. There were plenty of people in the hallway… but I had to let it all out before I imploded from the inside.

"Why the fuck are you shitters smiling?" I questioned, frowning deeply.

They turned around to face me, though they didn't speak. The hallway grew silent as many other eyes looked towards me.

"I ASKED… WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SHITTERS SMILING!?"

"..."

"Little brother, you don't need to speak out here." Cang Yue glanced at me.

"No… I don't give a FUCK if the entire world is listening. Let them hear EVERYTHING!"

"We LOST in such an embarrassing fashion and you're moving on like NOTHING fucking happened." I violently shook my head. "You USELESS pieces of SHIT dare wear that uniform and say that you represent MY Blue Wind Imperial Family! YOU only fought in a single match and conceded the rest. Why the fuck did you come to a Blue Wind Ranking Tournament if you weren't even going to put up a fight!?"

"... My opponents were stronger-"

"That is NO excuse. I don't give a fuck if he's one or a fucking thousand cultivation levels ahead of you… when you represent the Blue Wind Profound Palace… when you represent the BLUE WIND IMPERIAL FAMILY, you FIGHT! YOU FIGHT UNTIL YOUR BODY GIVES IN… YOU FIGHT UNTIL THERE'S NO BLOOD LEFT IN YOUR BODY… YOU FIGHT TO THE FUCKING DEATH IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES!"

"..."

"YOU… SHITTER. DON'T LOOK AT ME WITH THAT STUPID FUCKING FACE." I turned to the one who said he was going to be an instructor. "An instructor in the Blue Wind Profound Palace? YOU!? What the fuck are you going to teach… LOSING?"

"..."

"And you… you want to join the military? When an opposing nation attacks us and their experts are stronger, are you also going to BEND OVER AND LET THEM FUCK YOU!?"

"And you… YOU DIDN'T EVEN FIGHT A SINGLE TIME. THERE ARE NO BRUISES, NO SCRATCHES… NOTHING. NO PROOF THAT YOU EVEN GAVE A SHIT. I'D ARGUE YOU LOOK BETTER AFTER YOUR FIGHTS THAN BEFORE."

"..."

Every last one of them was speechless.

"If it were up to me, I wouldn't just permanently expel you from the Blue Wind Profound Palace for your beyond SHIT performances… I would EXILE you from the fucking NATION!"

I took a deep breath, looking around and seeing everyone staring at me. Most of them seemed to find the dumb-foundedness of the disciples amusing. Or was it me ranting? Regardless, I did what I felt that I needed to do.

I fixed up my clothes and smiled.

"That's all I have to say in regards to this matter." I turned away from the trashcans. "There's no point in staying and watching when we're not even competing. Qin Wushang, I wish to go home."

"... That will be arranged." He nodded, looking at me with a slight smile.

On the way out, a lot of people laughed. Whether it was at me or at them… or at both, it didn't matter. In the next Blue Wind Ranking Tournament, things will be different.

I'll be leading the charge…

I'll win it all.

Ling Yun stood in front of me as I was leaving.

"I heard the whole thing, your highness." His face was expressionless, clear as crystal. "Passion like yours is remarkable."

"The last thing I need is you mocking me." I frowned slightly, looking up at him.

"No… I've heard of you." Ling Yun stroked his chin. "You began cultivating at twelve… and, not even a year after, you are at the Nascent Profound Realm. You are a genius with the spirit of a raging tiger. I don't believe the Blue Wind Imperial Family will struggle to reach the top one hundred in six year's time."

Not a raging tiger… I am a lion that has been poked one too many times.

"No, it won't take six years." I walked past him. "I'm going to beat every last one of you 'genuises' in the next Blue Wind Ranking Tournament. You can write these words and hold them up as a poster… because what I say will most certainly come true."

"... Then I look forward to facing you in three year's time, Cang Chao."

I grinned slightly.

"Yeah, see you."

And so, I had at least a hundred times more drive to win the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament.

A driven James… is frightening.

Take it from me, I know myself best.
