章節 19: Reason for living

Before Maxixe left his carriage he had checked on Kaoma to see if she was awake but she was still fast asleep.

As much as he wanted to head straight home the horses were tired and he did not want to push them past their limits unnecessarily.

They would rest by this watering hole for a bit, have dinner and get some shut eye for a few hours before heading back on the road again. 

Maxixe made his way over to where his men had set up camp, they already had a fire going.

He didn't realize how hungry he was until the smell of rich elk stew assaulted his nose and made his mouth water.

His men made room for him on an old felled tree and he sat down and gladly accepted a bowl of the steaming hot stew. 

Maxixe ate until his first bowl was empty and did justice to a few more refills.

He sat down next to his cousin Aiden who always got along well with kids and had somehow commandeered his son from Elton.
