While the company looked stable on surface, there were still many people who doubted her abilities, shunned her father's decision of making her the CEO, some were like Chen Lina, plotting various things and whatnot. 

Daisy certainly did not have everything under control in that place and she was not the least bit bothered about it. She would deal with things as they came. 

But that, specifically, did not mean that she could just take a sick leave like the man's 'call-your-secretary-and-say-your-forehead-is-burning' look suggested.
