Daisy's lips twitched but she did not speak. Instead, she got up and massaged the back of her neck before turning to get out of the bed. But the moment her feet touched the floor, the soreness spread all over her legs. 

Her brows tugged together. Just as she moved to stand up, a shadow enveloped her. She glanced up at Ryle but before she could take a proper look at the man, strong arms wrapped around her body as he picked her up in a princess carry and took her to the couch.

Ryle placed her on his lap and played with his eyes, his eyes tracing over her features in the hazy light of the bedside lamp that barely reached them near the couch. 

''Why did you stop me from speaking there?" 

''You will wake her up.'' 

Daisy rolled her eyes, ''She has taken after her mama in that aspect. Both Diana and Angel can sleep through anything and everything once they close their eyes.''
