章節 72: glorious purpose(chapter 72)

prevoulsy in chapter 71

"Well, let's do this, shall we? Let's throw this into a curveball," he mused as he got ready, quickly arriving at the scene, which he had been to before. He simply teleported. "She should be here in a minute," he thought as he stepped out of an alleyway where a couple of people were panicking. He purposefully bumped into someone familiar. "Hello," he said with a smile. The person who stole the obelisk was, of course, Raina, who was working for someone Henry knew to be important to the next couple of events or chapters, as he liked to call it.

"Oh, Henry," Raina was, of course, shocked to see Henry as he slowly took the case out of her hands. "That thing is quite dangerous. Don't you think someone stronger should handle it?" he asked with a smile. Raina quickly got over her shock and said, "Of course, lead the way," with a forced smile as she gestured for Henry to move forward, which he chuckled at. "So that you can shoot me in the back with that pistol?" he asked as he drew closer. "Of course not," she answered, acting quite shy, making Henry scoff. "You know, I gotta ask: Were you disappointed when Garrett turned out to be not so clairvoyant?" he asked as he pulled her to the side of the building and leaned against the wall.

Chapter 72Raina hesitated for a bit before saying, "Yes, it was quite disappointing," as she looked at Henry with an innocent expression, which, if any man were to believe it, they would come to regret. "Well, don't be," he said as he lifted her chin, actually comparing her to her future self. "You should really stay away from this obelisk, you know. It's not good for someone with your looks." The moment he said that, Raina seemed to have an idea. "If you—" "I know what you're thinking. You might be pretty, but you're nowhere up to my standards," he said as he heated up his finger, burning the underside of her chin. "So, you, pretty little mockingbird, are going to go back to your little benefactor and you are going to tell him..." He trailed off before knocking her out and taking the obelisk with him before saying to himself, "Never mind, now then, lets go and arrest some icicle boy" as he smirked to himself

-scene change-

In the middle of a cold, quiet night, a young man with a buzz cut and a black jacket could be seen looking around frantically. The dim streetlights cast long shadows across the deserted street, their flickering light adding an eerie ambiance. The wind rustled the leaves of nearby trees, creating a soft, unsettling whisper in the otherwise silent night.

Suddenly, two men wearing black suits appeared behind him, their presence almost ghostly in the dim light. "Mister Gill, we need to talk, please," one of them said, aiming his gun. Despite the threat, the young man immediately lunged at them. As his hands made contact, a chilling frost spread from his fingertips, freezing the men solid before he pushed them, causing their brittle, frozen bodies to shatter into pieces. The sound of shattering ice echoed through the empty streets.

Panting for a second, the young man named Donnie Gill, also known as Blizzard, tried to catch his breath. Suddenly, a voice sounded behind him, calm and composed. "That is quite neat. Although, do you really need to touch to freeze them? Because that would be disappointing." Donnie immediately turned around to see Henry, standing confidently in the shadows.

"You, who are you?" Donnie asked, his voice trembling slightly as Henry walked towards him, the sound of his footsteps muffled by the night.

"You see, Donnie, or Blizzard, was it? What is going to happen in a couple of days is quite boring and doesn't bring me much more benefit, so unfortunately, you go into my little special box," Henry said, his tone casual yet ominous. As Donnie suddenly lunged at him, Henry didn't flinch. Donnie grabbed Henry by the arm, and a frost began to spread, but Henry didn't seem to mind.

"You see, on that ship that you are going to, what was its name, Maribel del Mar, yes," Henry continued, unfazed by the frostbite that didn't spread far beyond where Donnie touched him. With an almost effortless movement, Henry lifted his arms, the frost barely affecting him. "You die there. Well, you sink down, but it's the same anyway. So, since your destiny is quite mediocre, I am going to grant you a new glorious purpose," Henry smiled fully, a smile that sent chills down Donnie's spine.

As Donnie held onto him, Henry's smile became even more terrifying as his body began to glow orange, a hot, searing orange. His entire body started to heat up, the frostbite fading away. In fact, Donnie started to burn up, his skin glowing brighter and brighter until even his hair caught fire.

"Agh, aghhhhhhh," Donnie screamed in agony as the heat overwhelmed him. The surrounding air sizzled, and the faint smell of burning flesh filled the air. Henry suddenly stopped, his expression unchanged. "But don't worry, your purpose isn't to burn up but to be an unlimited frozen blood donor," he smiled as he punched Donnie, knocking him out cold, heh.

The night resumed its eerie silence, the only sound being the rustling leaves and the distant hum of city life. Henry stood there for a moment, observing the unconscious Donnie before disappearing into the shadows, leaving the scene as quietly as he had arrived as he then pulled up his phone where a video was playing of one of his drones that was watching the boat, which he actually froze over a ship which was the Maribel del Mar, he did so because he wanted hydra to fight shield and they were both there, fighting, just like he wanted.

-scene change-

In a dark but dimly lit office, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The room was sparsely furnished, the shadows playing tricks on the eyes, making it seem both larger and more confined than it was. At the center of this oppressive space, an older man with glasses, Dr. Werner Reinhardt, known to his followers as Whitehall, sat behind a large, imposing desk. The desk was immaculate, a stark contrast to the chaos he presided over. Standing beside him, looking deferential yet resolute, was Sunil Bakshi, one of Hydra's most trusted operatives.

"Another failure," Whitehall began, his voice a measured blend of disappointment and underlying menace. "We don't have the Diviner, and Donnie Gill is nowhere to be seen, while S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to be a thorn in our side." His eyes, sharp and calculating, flicked to the Hydra symbol adorning the wall behind him. It was a symbol Henry was too used to seeing, a constant reminder of the ever-present enemy.

Whitehall leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers as he fixed Bakshi with a cold gaze. "And who do I have to thank for this, Sunil Bakshi?"

Bakshi, looking down momentarily, composed himself before speaking. "Dr. Warner, I promise to get to the bottom of this, if you allow me." His tone was a mix of urgency and reverence, knowing the weight of his words.

Whitehall's eyes narrowed, his mind clearly working through the implications. "Something doesn't make sense. If S.H.I.E.L.D. intercepted Donnie Gill, they wouldn't have wasted the men or resources, which they don't have, on the ship. Why would they come?" He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk, deep in thought.

"Perhaps they came for the supplies on the ship," Bakshi suggested cautiously.

Whitehall sighed, the sound heavy with frustration. He didn't like loose ends. Bakshi, sensing an opening, continued, "I have a scientist downstairs whom I believe has talent that is being wasted. I request the authority to move her up."

Whitehall raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Do you trust her?"

Bakshi bowed slightly, his voice steady. "I am now, but if she proves otherwise, then I hope you two finally meet face to face." There was an unspoken understanding in his words, a thinly veiled threat.

Whitehall considered this for a moment before nodding. His attention was then drawn to the computer screen in front of him, displaying an image of Henry. "Send more people to this alchemist," he ordered, his voice decisive. "Remember, if they aren't with Hydra, then they are a threat."
