Realizing she'd been hit, Si Xiaohui went crazy, fighting back like a madwoman. But she was no match for the man. After a few blows, she was knocked to the ground. The man seized her neck, furiously saying.

"Si Xiaohui, you eat my food, live in my house, spend my money, and now you dare to lay a hand on me? Don't push your luck. Otherwise, don't blame me for turning my back on you. I have plenty of money, and can find any woman I want. Who do you think you are? If you annoy me, you'll be out on the street in no time."

Si Xiaohui had been living with him for over three months. She knew that he worked at a steel mill and was a group leader. He had some money, and though life with him wasn't great, she didn't have to work and could sleep until late every day. It was quite comfortable.

Usually, she tried hard to please him. He had a bad temper and liked to play the big man when he drank, but as long as she didn't provoke him, she was fine.
