"A funeral procession?" William Cole furrowed the brow.
The white driver, Jack, nodded vigorously.
Hazel Kramer wondered, "Who conducts a burial at night?"
"Aren't funerals normally held during the day?"
But William Cole responded, "Only those who die normal deaths are buried during the day, those who die horrific deaths, like drowning, or being burned, are buried at night."
"The souls of those people wouldn't be at peace if they were laid to rest during the day."
"Only by conducting the burial at night can they evade the Reaper, and be reincarnated in the Netherworld. Even Death shows leniency then."
"This practice is commonly known as 'hide from death'."
"Hide from death?" Hazel Kramer found it amusing. As a person who received modern education and believed in science, she didn't believe in ghosts or anything supernatural at all.
William Cole looked at the white driver, Jack, and suddenly asked, "Are you certain it was just a funeral procession?"
