Hannah's POV

"Get out of my room, Jared."

He smiled widely as I shot him a glare. "I've missed you too, Sister."

Scoffing at his use of formal titles, I folded my arms across my chest. I've never liked my idiot brother, he was such a goody-two-shoes. With his dark skin, brown eyes and smiley personality, Jared was my exact description of a headache.

Bright, loud and obnoxious.

"Don't 'sister' me. Go away! In fact, why are you even here? I thought everyone had gone out?" I asked, not masking my annoyance.

"Yeah, everyone went to the President's birthday gala. I didn't feel like going, old men talking about their grandkids isn't my scene. Plus, I wanted to see you."

"Spare me the bullshit, Jared. Why are you really here?"

He sighed in an overly dramatic fashion, before giving me a mischievous smile. "Fine, you got me! I just wanted to see if all the rumours are true, and clearly they are. My sister has an Asian boyfriend!"
