章節 12: A DEMON
"It's you that have a death wish!" the blonde youth exclaimed with a furious expression as he suddenly dashed towards Hutton. As for the the twin brother, he quickly paused with a bad feeling rising up in him after detecting the aura Hutton currently exude.
But before he could stop his hot blooded brother, he has already approached Hutton while sending a rather quick jab towards Hutton's left cheek.
Based on his combat stance and how he executed his jab, one can notice that he was in the Genius rank in boxing style.
"Taste my fist!" The blonde youth said with a wicked grin as he saw Hutton just standing loosely while waiting for his jab to land.
But before he could land, Hutton suddenly moved as he reflexively dodged the jab as he sent out a simple punch towards the blonde youths chest.
But the youth clearly wasn't a newbie in hand to hand combat as he quickly deflected the punch with his other hand. Unfortunately, right after he deflected the simple looking punch, his legs which were deeply rooted on the platform were suddenly swept up into the air by an unstoppable force.
'Huh?' The youth quickly blanked out as he was on the air, but Hutton didn't seem to care as he rised his right hand on the air while forming a fist.
"Quick advice, you should always watch the lower part of your body during hand to hand combat" Hutton calmly said before he fiercely swinged down his hand which landed on the blonde youth's chest.
Bang!!
Boom!!!
As soon as Hutton's right hand landed on the blonde youth chest, the later could here a faint cracking sound coming out of his chest as he heavily crashed on the platform.
The crash was so destructive that it made the blonde youth to slightly sink into the platform while a spider web looking cracks ran through the whole platform.
As soon as the event took place, the entire building quickly fell completely silent. Even the competitors on the platform paused as they stared at Hutton with dumbfounded looks.
"What kind of explosive strength is this?" The Mayor suddenly asked with a disbelieving expression on his aged face while staring at the blonde youth who has currently passed out. Even both the two middle aged men behind him and Vivian who is at his right side had dazed look on his face.
'Is this the full extent of his strength?' Kenneth thought with a shocked expression on his face.
While everyone were busy staring at him like he was a great demon that rised up from the pits of hell, Hutton is currently cursing the previous Hutton in anger.
'How can a human body be this f**king weak!? I just used a fracture of my internal force and now I can't use my right hand anymore' Hutton thought in exasperation after calming down a bit.
But he seems to have forgotten that the body he was in at his previous life had first gone through insane levels of training and torture before he got used to it. If he remembered, he wouldn't have uttered a word towards the deceased and innocent Hutton of the past.
Apparently, while all this was going on in Hutton's mind, he still had an indifferent expression on his face as he blandly said.
"Who is next?"
As soon as the other competitors heard this, they involuntarily shuddered. Right after that, each and every competitors began to say two exact words..
"I concede"
Not only that, but they began to leave the platform one after the other.
Are you joking?
They clearly saw someone that was actually a whole rank above them got passed out by a demonic punch while completely ruined the platform. After thinking of what they would do if they were in the same shoes as the blonde youth, they all came to the same ending which was being plummeted.
Even if they ganged up on him, they knew that single punch could wipe out half of the group out of the platform so why bother?.
Although they felt pained for not getting the 2 million bucks as the reward, there life were more important.
"What.... Just happened?" The Mayor asked with a blank look on his face.
"It seems like he has ended the competition" Kenneth said with a wry smile on his. Although he knew that Hutton, he never believed that he strong to the extent of being a demon.
"So Dad, do you believe me now?" Vivian suddenly asked with a victorious smile on her face.
"My dear daughter, not only do I believe you, but I am totally awe struck by him. Am going down right now to hand him the reward" The Mayor said as he slowly began to get up.
"Let me help you dad" the two middle aged men said in unison as they hurriedly stood up while coming closer to the Mayor.
Due to the area the middle aged men sat which were relatively dark, a person couldn't be able to see how they look like. But once they came forward, there faces were clearly visible.
One of the middle aged men have a dark brown hair along with a light brown pair of eyes which were on a face that have gone through many experiences. As for the other middle aged man, apart from the dark hair and pair of eyes, not else were different from the previous man.
They both wore a dark brown suit that covered there slightly robust body that has a height of 6 foot 2 inches.
"Stephen, Turner, you don't have to worry yourselfs, I can move by myself" The Mayor said with a light smile on his face after he fully got up.
"Dad, you don't have to stress yourself by always reminding them because they won't listen" Vivian said as she rolled her eyes at the two middle aged men.
"At least we aren't inconsiderate and rebellious like you who always wander out alone" the man with the dark brown hair that is named Stephen said with a smirk on his face. When Vivian heard this, her expression changed as she said...
"You..."
"Enough! You guys don't have to always bicker amongst yourselves, you are grown up already" The Mayor rebuked with a wry smile on his face before he faced Turner and said...
"Inform the host that I will be coming down now"
"Yes dad" The dark haired middle aged man said before bringing out his phone to make a call.
Back at the arena, after all the competitors left the platform for Hutton, the audience began to look at him strangely.
"How can a human being be this strong?"
"Are you sure he didn't cheat by using a special tool?"
"Yes am sure, my sister who works at the backstage said they search for any item on the competitors before allowing them to come out"
"But that display of power he previously did is just too unbelievable"
'I hate this kind of situation, I need to get my reward and leave this place' Hutton thought with creased brows after observing the gazes and whispers the audience were giving him. But not long after, the con artist who was lost on what to do quickly announced as his behavior came back to normal.
"Now that the competition has come to an end in an unexpected way, the Mayor will come down himself to gift the winner of the competition his reward"
As soon as the audience heard this announcement, they quickly went into an uproar.
"The Mayor is coming down himself?"
"During the previous years, it's his two sons that gift the reward to the winner of the competition. Why the change this year?"
"I guess it's because of the display of power the winner of the competition have shown"
"I guess so, that strike was too devastating"
'The Mayor is coming himself?' Hutton thought with an astonished look on his face. Based the memories he got from the previous Hutton, he frequently attended this competition and all through the years he attended, it was the two sons that gift the reward to the winner of the competition.
'Well it's still good for me, at least I get to know the highest power in this city in advance' Hutton thought with a mysterious smile on his face.

章節 13: BEING A BODYGUARD
'I can't believe the Mayor of this city could be this old and why is that girl here?' Hutton thought with an astonished expression on his face as he stared at an old man coming out of the entrance at the other end of the building along with Kenneth, two middle aged men and the girl he saw earlier this morning.
After approaching Hutton who is still on the platform, the Mayor said with a friendly smile on his face...
"I would like to thank everyone one of you for making out a time to attend this exciting event but unfortunately, I didn't know this anticipating event will unexpectedly come to an end by this young man"
"So I am personally giving this young man his reward for shocking everyone of us with his explosive strength and instantly winning this competition" The Mayor continued as he unhurriedly brought out a cheque and handed it to Hutton.
"Am deeply honored for personally handing me this reward" Hutton said in a respectful tone as he received the reward solemnly on the surface and jubilating heavily in the inside.
'Now that I have gotten what I want, I need to quickly leave this place' Hutton thought after calming down a little, but what he heard next quickly made him go blank.
"Oh don't be like that. Besides, I have heard a lot about you so I would like to have a private conversation with you" The Mayor said with a satisfied look on his face.
'He has heard a lot about me? Where?' Hutton thought with a confused expression on his face, but not too long after, a thought suddenly came into his mind which made him to secretly glance at Vivian.
But he quickly cursed internally after seeing Vivian glancing back at him with a mischievous smile on his face. While all this is going on, Turner quickly signaled the con looking artist to end the event.
...
Located in a well lit and spacious room that seems to be an office, a group of people could be seen being seated. This group of people consisted of two slightly aged men, two middle aged men, a lady and two men that are in there 20s.
"Sir, can I ask why you would like to have a private conversation with me?" Hutton couldn't take it anymore as he quickly asked. Right now, Hutton want to hurry back to his restaurant to kickoff his plans. But this old man suddenly asked for a private conversation with him which is nearly making him angry.
"Oh no it's nothing much. But before I tell you the reason, I would like to ask if you have been a bodyguard before?" The Mayor asked with a amicable smile on his face.
"A bodyguard?" Hutton asked with a confused expression on his face.
"Yes, a bodyguard" The Mayor said again in a confirmative tone. Apparently, Hutton have a bodyguard to a few people during his past life while he was climbing the ranks of being a commander.
"Unfortunately I haven't sir" Hutton said with a calm look on his face. Why Hutton decided to lie is because if he decided to say the truth, he might be asked to do something for the Mayor which apparently is the last thing he currently wants to do.
"Umm... May I ask why you are asking him this question?" Kenneth asked with a confused expression on his face.
"It seems I just have to be straightforward. We are having this private conversation because I would like you to be my dear little daughter's personal bodyguard" Mayor said calmly.
"What?" Hutton involuntarily said with a blank look on his face. But his face quickly came back to normal as he ask...
"Sir... Am I able to decline this offer?"
"What?" Mayor suddenly said with a blank look now on his face. But Hutton's question did the exact opposite for the Stephen and Turner.
"How dare you decline the–" Turner said with an indignant expression on his face before he got interrupted by his dad.
'He actually declined the offer' Vivian thought with an astonished look on her face. I her mind, she thought giving him the job of being her personal bodyguard might even weep in joy, but she never knew he currently don't want to be here any longer.
"Can't you at least consider it. My daughter always leaves home without carrying any of the house bodyguards and there are people out there who are trying to get to me through my family" The Mayor said with a bitter smile on his face.
In truth, he knew Hutton might decline his request. For someone who could guide Master Kenneth into the Grandmaster rank, his pride must surely be off the roof.
When Hutton heard what the Mayor said, he quickly began to ponder if this job will benefit him in anyway.
'I can't believe he is considering the offer given to him by our Mayor' Kenneth thought with a forced smile on his face.
Apparently, he also didn't want Hutton to become Vivian's bodyguard because it can affect his time of being guided by Hutton. But there is nothing much he could do since this request is coming from the Mayor himself. If it was someone else, he would have decisively decline the offer for Hutton.
"I will agree to be her personal bodyguard under two conditions" After pondering for some moments, Hutton finally said with a solemn look on his face.
When Stephen and Turner heard what Hutton said, they nearly puked out blood in anger. As for Liam who was been silent the whole time, he quickly looked at Hutton in awe.
'He is actually giving my dad conditions' Vivian thought with a strange smile on her charming face.
Throughout Mayor's life, the only people who have given her dad conditions when he offered them good requests are either his business partners or people in the Grandmaster rank. Although Hutton might be in the Grandmaster rank, he is still too young to give her dad conditions.
But shockingly, the Mayor didn't seem to be fazed when hearing what Hutton said as he asked with a gentle smile on his face.
"What are your conditions?"
"The first condition is that I will only act as her bodyguard when she is moving out or when there isn't any bodyguard available" Hutton said calmly.
"That isn't an issue. Then what about the second condition" The Mayor said with an expression that makes him seem like he expected this condition.
"The second condition is more like a 'pay before service' kind of condition. And my payment fee must not be lower that 100,000 bucks" Hutton said with the same calm look on his face. When the Mayor heard this, his face slightly twitched. But he still retained the calm smile on his face as he said.
"There is no problem with this condition either. Since I have accepted your conditions, can I state mine"
"Feel free sir" Hutton said in a casual tone.
"Well my condition is kind of simple. I just want my daughter to come home every single time without even a strand of hair missing on her head" The Mayor said with a solemn look now on his face.
"That isn't an issue Sir. Since it has been settled, can I leave now?" Hutton asked with a calm look on his face. He really want to leave this place because not only do he want to kick off his plans for his restaurant, but he also wants to treat his right hand that has been useless for the moment as soon as possible before it gets worse.
"No need to rush Mr. Hutton, we still need to sign the contract" The Mayor said with a light chuckle before looking at Stephen behind him. With a light nod, Stephen quickly brought out a sheet of paper from a briefcase that was beside him and handed it to the Mayor.
"I will sign here..." The Mayor said while signing on the contract before pushing it to Hutton who is on the same table as him and said..
"...and you will sign there"
'Thank the heavens I can fluently write with both hands if not I will be in a pickle' Hutton thought as he used his left hand to sign on the contract.
As soon as Hutton signed the contract and the Mayor gave the contract back to Stephen, he finally said in a relieved tone.
"Now that you have signed the contract, you have officially my daughter's personal bodyguard. Hope you will protect her well"
"Of cause sir. Now that it has been done, this is a farewell for now sir" Hutton said before getting up and leaving the room.
