A rejection would be heartbreaking but Howl finally decided that it was better to take a chance than to wallow in regret for doing nothing when it was too late.
And it would indeed be too late once they left. Biding his time was never an option, playing hard to get isn't either.
Damn, if he really has the time left to think things through like a conservative maiden, he should rather use that remaining time to coax this small wild cat who's shooting daggers at him while tapping her fingers across her shoulders impatiently.
Howl took a deep breath, steeling himself for the confrontation. His heart was pounding in his chest as he approached the girl.
"Atasha," he began, his voice steady despite the turmoil within him. "Can you spare a little of your time?"
