Her heart pounded like a wild drum in her chest. Dismissing her annoyance towards the rude human girl, the thought of her 'jealousy' aimed at Cara, made her think of catching the eyes of elusive and enchanting snake beings.

Though she was disappointed at not having encountered 'that' enigmatic individual again, meeting his rather ordinary wife had given her a new perspective. She realized that she just had to play her cards right. 

Upon reaching her mud house, she was taken aback to find Pan and Lin, lounging nonchalantly in her living room. Their sharp eyes immediately zeroed in on the bag of rice in her hands, causing her grip to tighten instinctively.

"Ah, Cara, you're back," Pan was the first to break the silence, her voice echoing through the room.
