章節 11: Chapter 11: "The Silent Rift in the Car"
In Abhimanyu's car, a somber atmosphere prevailed as Ayesha was clearly upset with him.
Abhimanyu finally broke the silence, "Just say whatever you want to say and get it over with. You're the one who lied to me first, saying it was an emergency."
Ayesha, still frustrated, questioned him, "How could you treat my friends like that?"
Abhimanyu defended himself, "Business is business. If I go around and start doing charity in the name of business, our family would go bankrupt."
Ayesha sternly responded, "Fine, do your business. But once it's over, let me tell you, if I ever see you around my people and taking advantage of them, let me tell you, I will not forgive you, ever."
Abhimanyu defended his actions, saying, "Those guys are not that innocent either. That Karthik guy is just like me. Abhinav knows what he's doing; he knows I offered him a fair deal. And that angelic friend of yours, whom you talks about how kind and polite she is, gave me a bombastic side-eye before leaving."
Ayesha replied with conviction, "Of course she would give you a side-eye. You hurt one of her precious four people."
Abhimanyu asked curiously, "Why, that Karthik guy was her boyfriend or something?"
Ayesha clarified, "No, she is forever single."
Abhimanyu mused, "Oh, now I can see the resemblance."
Ayesha agreed, "Seriously, it's so obvious. They are like the male and female versions of each other."
Abhimanyu, still curious, inquired, "Who are the other three?"
Ayesha responded, "Her parents and me."
Abhimanyu then probed, "Does Anupriya not even have a crush or something?"
Ayesha firmly stated, "This is none of your business. Just do your job and leave them alone."
Abhimanyu defended himself, "I was just curious. Nowadays, nobody is forever single. Either they've had a really bad heartbreak or they're hiding something."
Ayesha concluded, "And why do you think I will share anything about my friend with you when you were being such jerk back there to her brother? Just go back to that two-faced bitch fiancée of yours."
Ayesha shut down her brother bluntly, and the rest of the road toward their home was traveled in tense silence.
