The thing in front of me was no longer the dreadwolf it used to be. It was now a mockery, a twisted insult against the beauty and order of nature. 

Standing on its hindlegs, the wretched spawn of an abomination stared at me with a smile on its face. A curved smile that rivaled the perfection of a crescent moon. 

I gripped the handle of my sword tighter and frowned. The abomination was not making a move. Not yet. 

It just stood there, smiling. It felt like I was being taunted by the foul abomination, but I stayed my hand and awaited it to make the first move. 

And of course, as I had assumed and expected just a while back, the abomination spoke. It was a deep and disgustingly guttural sound.

"Hello there, Hero..." I winced upon hearing that horrid voice, "You have come for me, I assume?"
