The morning sun softly filtered through the curtains, its gentle rays touching Zarina's face and rousing her from her sleep. She blinked her eyes open, wincing as the bright light stung her sensitive eyes.
Yawning, she tried to wake up fully, blinking her eyes a few times to clear her vision. As the sleepiness faded away, she turned around and absorbed her surroundings. Puzzled, she furrowed her brows when she realized that she wasn't in Grandma's room. The room seemed strangely familiar, neat, and tidy, which was quite different from her typically messy space.
"Where am I?" she wondered, her mind struggling to recognize her surroundings. It took her a few moments to finally notice everything around her. She was in her own room.
She felt a bit confused and quickly tried to remember how she ended up here. In a moment, she realized she was looking at Draymond, who was lying beside her on the same bed.
"What the heck…" Zarina's voice trailed off, clearly shocked.
'Oh Shit! Why on earth did I sleep with this devil?' she asked herself, trying to remember what happened last night.
She shot up. The sheet and blanket fell away, and she quickly pointed an accusing finger at Draymond, "What is the meaning of this? Why are you here?"
Her voice thundered, waking up Draymond's sleeping form.
'Wait? What a shame, Zarina, you're the one who entered this room last night to get your sketchpad,' Zarina suddenly recalled, scolding herself inwardly.
'Never mind, it's too late to take back my accusations. I will stand with it, and I must protect myself from any embarrassment in front of him.'
Still groggy from sleep, Draymond rubbed his eyes and sat up, too.
"I could ask you the same thing," he retorted, his tone defensive. "This is my room, in case you've forgotten," he added with a typical bedroom voice.
Zarina's jaw dropped, 'How thick is his face? When did he own my room?' she murmured in disbelief.
Zarina scoffed, "Your room? Did you bump your head and forget that this room was mine? I don't see your name on it anywhere. You're just a visitor here, mister!"
Draymond's eyes narrowed towards her, "Well, perhaps you need to get your head checked because this room belongs to me. As far as I remember, Grandma told me to treat this room as mine last time. And look, this is far from your messy and disorganized room before," he said while roaming his eyes around, then he looked back at her. "I don't know how you got in here, but you must leave. You disturb my peaceful rest," he added in a serious tone.
'Oh shit! I lied. Nah, lying is better than being a loser in this argument. I will not put myself in great embarrassment,' he mumbled.
Zarina squinted her eyes, throwing a dagger look at Draymond, 'You're getting on my nerves! How dare you throw me away in my own room! I won't let you look down on me!' she shouted in her head, clearly annoyed and embarrassed.
Zarina folded her arms across her chest, looking furious, "I am not going anywhere. I have every right to be here. And you can't just throw me out like some unwanted guest in my own room!" she yelled, her chest heaved up and down in anger.
Draymond sighed in frustration. "Unwanted guest? Did I call you that? You basically came here last night without asking my permission. This is my place for now, and I take care of it better than you did. I don't like the way you invade my privacy."
Zarina retorted, her voice getting louder, "Invading your space? I don't know what kind of delusional world you're in. This is my room; we only let you stay here because you're weak! You want me to leave?"
She facepalmed and continued, "Fine, I challenge you. Whoever leaves this door first is the loser."
She lay herself on the bed and pulled the blanket and bed sheet over her body, leaving Draymond in just his shorts and shirt, shivering in the cold.
She then comfortably went to sleep like a small kitten.
Draymond's face flushed in anger, and he almost fell on the bed as Zarina forcefully got the bed sheet from him.
'Argh! Does she want me to freeze to death on this cold morning?' he mumbled silently, glaring at her.
His eyes then flew towards the vast ceiling overhead, and he clearly saw a lizard freely moving in the ceiling, looking for food to eat.
Zarina slightly glances at Draymond when she notices he isn't moving. She thought, 'Ha ha! I know you'll surrender. Aish! Victory really tastes good,' she muttered with a wide grin. Then she hugged the bedsheet that gave her warmth and quickly closed her eyes.
The room was filled with a deadly silence. Zarina pretended to be asleep while Draymond plotted ways to kick her out.
Just then, Zarina snored loudly like a pig to annoy Draymond.
"Zzz zzz zzz."
Draymond clenched his jaw, trying to control his frustration. He accused Zarina of sneaking into his bed, teasing her without even looking at her. "You must really like me if you're sneaking into my bed like this. Keep trying, miss," he said with irritation in his voice.
Zarina's eyes widened in disbelief. She removed the blanket that covered her body and glared at him, "Despicable. Don't you dare deny it, Draymond. You asked me to sleep here last night. I didn't just barge in. Ahhh! I regret having mercy on you!" she hissed.
Draymond was taken aback, blinking rapidly as he searched for the right words to defend himself. "I didn't do that," he retorted firmly, attempting to maintain his composure. "I would never willingly invite you to share my bed. You must be dreaming if you think I'd do that."
'Consider yourself lucky, Zarina; you're the first one I share my bed with,' he thought.
Zarina's jaw dropped, and her temper flared up.
"Dreamt it? Are you calling me a liar? I'm not making things up! You were the one who begged me to sleep with you last night. Ask the…" She couldn't finish her sentence as she couldn't find someone to prove her claim.
Draymond raised his eyebrow, "Ask who?"
A wide grin appeared on his handsome face.
Zarina rolled her eyes while trying to find words to retaliate, "Ask the… Ask the lizard on the ceiling," she pointed at the innocent lizard on the ceiling.
'Gosh! Sorry, pity lizard, I have to use you, so spare my lame excuse,' she murmured under her breath, pursing her lips.
Draymond's eyes squinted, "Really?! What a pity, lizard. I clearly remember I didn't invite you. Maybe you misunderstood something I said. Or maybe you're just trying to manipulate the situation to your advantage," he accused her.
'What feisty woman, can't she just accept defeat? Damn! I utter many lies this early,' He murmured, looking at Zarina's beautiful face.
Zarina's face flushed with anger. "Manipulate?! You're unbelievable, Draymond. I have no reason to lie about this. This is my room, so I don't need your permission to allow me to enter here, and besides, I really wanted to leave last night immediately. But you're dealing with your night terrors, and you begged me to stay here. Ungrateful brat!" she shouted at him.
