章節 26: Chapter 26: First Strike

Are your troops ready and at their posts in the Gate Facility, Azdak?" Harry asked the leader of all his troops on Nimbus Prime while also testing the functionality of his Subspace Communication System.

"Yes, Emperor! We are ready to fulfill your commands. I also temporarily employed the help of more people from other work posts to process the number of people you are planning to send over," he stated, slightly nervous about deciding to remove other people from their work without the Emperor's permission.

"Good thinking, Azdak. You will need it. This planet is populated by over one million people; alone, close to the Gate, there are over 50,000," Harry said as he tried his sensors for the first time. "Be ready once I give you the signal."

Right now, the Gryffin is hovering cloaked above a planet. Not only did this world have a large human population, but it was also rich in Naquadah and other natural resources. Of course, such a world would be strongly defended; there are multiple military fortifications all over the planet close to strategic and important points. Close to the Stargate are mines, factories, and a grand palace.

Not only that, two Ha'taks are guarding the space above the planet. Another is under construction right now on the planet. This is a considerable force for any Goa'uld; most minor Goa'uld only have at most two Ha'taks, with the few stronger ones having up to five.

Two Ha'taks were the amount most System Lords could spare for an attack without leaving their own territories open for others to take advantage of. So it made sense to leave two to guard an important world; it may be even the Crown World of a minor Goa'uld.

"Let's show them the power of Osiris," Harry smirked, making it clear for everyone in the cockpit that they would be acting like the forces of a regular Goa'uld as he activated their Cloaking Device. Pansy was sitting beside him on a throne they brought for her into the control room, making herself look as godly as possible.

Soon, they received communication from one of the Ha'taks: "I am Gerak, the First Prime Minister of the God Montu. Surrender yourself, unknown vessel, and serve your God."

"Kree Jaffa," Harry said with a deep voice, his eyes glowing, this time like the ones of a Goa'uld. "I am Osiris, a true God. Why would I bow to some minor Goa'uld? I offer you to surrender and serve me, Jaffa."

"We only serve Montu. Your head will make a great present for him," Gerak replied back. The weapon systems and shields of the two Ha'taks are activating.

"I don't think so. I never heard of a Montu. But he will make a great announcement for my and my Queen's return among the Goa'uld," Harry said, ending the communication. His own shields and weapons were already ready, as the blasts from the weapons of the two Ha'taks were hitting his shields.

"Status, Talion?" Harry asked.

"The shields are holding. At this rate, they could hold for a few hours without any weakening. Your calculations are correct, my Lord; it would need a third Ha'tak to threaten this ship," the captain of his guard controlling the auxiliary systems replied.

"Good, you may dial the gate to Nimbus Prime." Harry ordered; of course, this ship had a Clavis that could control a Stargate from orbit. He had the knowledge of the Gate Builders; after all, "Activate the weapons; let's show them the power of empire."Take the left Ha'tak out."

In the meantime, the two Ha'taks had released their Death Gliders to join the attack on the ship. The Gryffin began to fire its six pulse weapon turbines at the first Ha'tak. The first salvo was enough to take out the shields of the enemy vessel; the second completely destroyed it.

Seeing that the second Ha'tak escaped into hyperspace, leaving the battalions of Death Gliders behind that were slowly taken out by the homing torpedoes "Should we follow them, my Lord? Gerak was on that ship," Talion asked.

"No, someone needs to spread the word," Harry said calmly as he watched the remaining Death Gliders get ripped apart by the torpedoes. Sure, they could catch up with the Ha'tak, as their sensors were able to track them even in hyperspace so close, and their Hyperdrive, although only for interstellar travel, was still twice as fast as a Ha'tak.

The only way to remain off the planet was through the Stargate, right into the hands of his forces waiting on the other side, ready to capture as many people as possible. It was time to get their reward.

"Ready for orbital bombardment. Lock weapon systems in military facilities. Let's kill as many of his troops as possible," Harry ordered; they had already located these facilities while cloaked. "Fire!"

One by one, the Gryffin took out the largest military fortifications and facilities on the planet's surface, killing most of the Jaffa before Harry ordered, "Assault Teams 1 to 4, finish off the remaining Jaffa, and transport the loot to the Ring Transporters. Assault Team 5, pressure the slaves through the Stargate; I want as many people as possible added to our workforce. If you shouldn't find any more, loot the settlement and throw the goods through the gate."

"This ship is amazing," Pansy said as she manned the battle station; she and Talion were the only people remaining in the cockpit, with his soldiers starting to gather loot from the planet.

They were ordered to collect anything of use and transport it through the Rings onto the ship: weapons of the killed Jaffa that they could recycle for their own weapons, the large deposits of already refined Naquadah spread in the different facilities that they detected, any unfamiliar technology, parts meant for the Ha'tak under construction, gold, and luxury goods from the Palace of Montu. Anything.

By blocking the Stargate, they had at least a few hours, if not days, to plunder the planet of its valuables. His ship was capable of detecting any incoming ships quite early, at least at the technological level of the Goa'uld. This would allow them to properly plunder it. After all, this ship could carry 400,000 tons, and they had an open Stargate connection.

Every crate of processed Naquadah was a crate they didn't need to mine and process. Every piece of jewelry or trinket would make Pansy happy. Every weapon could be recycled. Every captured human slave would fall into the same trap as his current ones, enticed by the power of becoming a magus, adding to his workforce. And he needed more workers.

Why wasn't he conquering this planet and adding it to his domain? He simply didn't have the manpower or fleet to control an additional planet, especially not one that was known to pretty much all System Lords. Protecting this planet would tie down his first ship, and should a System Lord or a member of the High Council of System Lords decide to show him his place, it was possible that he would even lose his first ship before even having a second one.

A more effective use for his first ship was to attack and plunder other Goa'uld. After all, the one thing slowing down his shipbuilding speed was the rate at which he was able to mine Naquadah. With only small deposits of the raw metal on his planet, it took a lot of effort to discover additional veins. On the bright side, the amount of neutronium in his ore warehouse was growing splendidly. Right now, he only needed the mineral for his most critical technology. But in the future, he would need much more of it, so collecting it was nice.
