“In you go…try not to drown,” Caroline said, an hour later, as she deposited me in the bath in-between Chloe and Grace. She had not commented on the three of us being in the same bed when she came in to wake us up, and I had not commented on a routine that I knew nothing at all about, but the twins clearly expected. My new strategy was not to overreact to things, but I was a little bit surprised that she intended to bath the three of us together, and that she had lifted me into the tub. In her defence, we were all quite close together in age, and as I was an only child, I had no idea whether that sort of thing was normal with sisters. But I had been showering every morning without any major adult assistance since I was seven or eight, as far as I could remember, so I found it a bit strange. But it was also fun, because of the twins.
“When is Felicity coming over, Mummy?” Grace asked, whilst splashing me.
