Philip smiled at Hazel. His eyes moved from the face to other parts of her body, stopping at her breasts for way too long before moving to her legs. Her dress was soiled by the mud as she had almost run here. She had wasted so much time in refusing her dilemma. Then she had to wait for Archie to retire to his room. Only then she was able to come here.
"You are late, Hazel." he spoke softly but she would be a fool to believe his voice. He was a snake in the clothing of a sheep. She would not know how she died if she walked too close to him.
"I was waiting for the halls to be cleared, your highness. I thought you would prefer discretion." she forced the smile to stay when he raised a brow and his lips twisted into a mocking smile.
"Who would judge me in my own house, Hazel. They all know that I have a big appetite. And I never waste food." embarrassment hit her hard. He was calling her food, an object that did not have viewpoints or did not deserve respect.
