章節 78: The Clash of Titans

Scar's club was crafted from some type of ore, with its massive head the size of a soccer ball, adorned with sharp spikes. Alex's spear, on the other hand, was an improved version of the ones he typically used. It featured upgrades, particularly in the choice of wood, now made from a tougher material discovered after crossing the lake.

Both men were clearly hostile toward each other, so their focus was solely on attack and defense. Despite Scar being larger and heavier, he wasn't slow—he moved like a seasoned warrior.

Alex wasn't far behind. Even though he lost in direct clashes of strength, he quickly recovered and counterattacked effectively. Scar's weapon, designed purely for impact, gave him an advantage, especially paired with his monstrous strength. Meanwhile, Alex's piercing weapon left him at a clear disadvantage.

Despite this, Alex showcased his skills, leaving even the members of his tribe impressed. Though they knew their leader well, they had never seen him fight with such intensity. It was as if Alex had never needed to take a battle seriously before—not even against the crocodile had he demonstrated this level of ability.

Inside Alex's mind, however, chaos reigned.

"Damn it! This guy is insanely strong. If that thing hits me even once, I'm done for. I've been dodging his raw power so far, but I can't keep this up. Fighting someone who knows how to wield a weapon is so much harder. Even against strong opponents, I could rely on my mastery. But against someone like Scar, who has both strength and skill, my life is hanging by a thread."

After countless attacks, Alex started losing the exchanges. Scar's club grazed him several times, leaving scratches on his body. While Scar also sustained minor injuries, they were hardly worth noting. Alex's wounds, on the other hand, were more visible and concerning.

With Alex's growing injuries, many from Scar's tribe began mocking him and his tribe, confident in their leader's victory. To them, it was unthinkable for Scar to lose—after all, even during his time as an outcast due to his unique color, Scar had never been defeated, whether in strength or intelligence. Defeat wasn't a word associated with him.

But suddenly, as if Alex had tapped into a surge of skill, Scar was injured. Not a minor scratch, but a visible wound. Alex's spear struck just below Scar's left chest, dangerously close to his heart. Though the attack wasn't deep, thanks to Scar's resilience and strength, it signaled that this fight might not be as one-sided as it seemed. A slightly different angle, and Scar might have lost outright.

This blow planted seeds of doubt in Scar's tribe. For the first time, they began to feel uncertain. Meanwhile, Alex's tribe celebrated. Their leader, who seemed on the verge of losing, had managed to land a decisive counterattack.

While one side rejoiced and the other despaired, Scar and Alex locked eyes. Scar tightened his guard after taking such a strike, and Alex gripped his spear more firmly. Both warriors braced themselves for the next round of attacks, knowing that any mistake could be the end.
