章節 40: An abomination
"Come on, man. Leave me alone. I haven't talked to Cora in weeks. " Levi tried to defend himself but Roman had already made up his mind.
He had heard whispers that people were starting to think he had gone soft because he had spared Levi.
Sparing Levi had been a promise he made to Cora in exchange for her getting back together with him. Now that he had her, he had no reason to uphold the promise.
His reputation was at stake. More people were going to act out and defy him if he didn't put an end to it immediately.
"You went on a date with her. What do you take me for? A softie who lets everything slide? "
Levi was doing the math in his head of the chances he had of winning. They were all a bunch of 3rd years meaning they had very high magical abilities.
The chances of winning were very slim. He turned to Marie and glared.
"Burn in hell, you fucking bitch! " He screamed at her.
As soon as those words left his lips, some guards showed up and Roman's arms were grabbed.
His friend's arms were grabbed too and the only people who remained free were Levi and Marie.
"Roman, you are under arrest for the attack of beasts in the dungeon and three 2nd year students. You and your accomplices will have to answer for your actions in front of a judge. " One of the guards said.
Thyone them appeared from behind the guards, nodded at Levi, and turned to address Roman.
"I hope you understand the weight of your crimes. When found guilty, you will be sentenced to life in hard physical labor or even death. " Thyone stated.
Roman's eyes widened and he shook his head vigorously.
"No! I didn't kill anyone or anything. This is all a big mistake. When my brother finds out about—"
"Your brother was informed of your sins before an order for your arrest was sent out. There is a lot of evidence against you. If I were you, I would cooperate and confess all my crimes. "
The guards dragged Roman and his friends away as Levi turned to Maria.
"You betrayed me, " he said as he moved closer to her. Thyone was watching the whole interaction wondering what Levi was going to do.
"N-No. He forced me to—"
"Stay away from me. "
Marie scurried away and left the two men there.
"Don't think that I will stop being mad at you because you saved me from Roman. I could have taken down him and his friends. " Levi stated.
Thyone was getting tired of his little attitude. He had signed up to polish fighting skills and not to take insults from a little boy.
He grabbed Levi by the neck and glared at him.
"I can kill you in seconds. You are nothing compared to me so don't talk to me like you are. Understood? " He asked.
Levi felt all his breath leave his lungs. His skin turned pale and his feet were lifted a little above the ground. Just a little more strength and Thyone would crush his neck.
"Y-Yes! "
Thyone let Levi go and turned to leave.
"What evidence do you people have against him anyway? " Levi asked in between coughs. His hand was on his neck and the skin was red, raw, and painful.
"Enough. He will go down for this. From now on, you will have nothing to worry about. "
"Thank you, " Levi said as Thyone was leaving.
He turned to go back to his dorm when he saw a large pitch-black wolf with red eyes standing in front of him. It barred its large canines at Levi and then let out a growl.
A string of saliva was dripping down to his mouth to the ground. The animal was so intimidating that Levi stepped backward and tried to run away.
Before he could make a run for it, he and the big world were transported to another place. The skies were black and the ground was a desert.
A cloud of black dust surrounded by crows descended on the ground and a gust of wind blew hard enough to knock Levi to the ground.
"I have been waiting to see you for way too long, " Lilith said as she stepped out of the black dust.
He knew it was her just by looking at her. She was wearing a black dress that covered her whole body and had a hoodie.
Her nails were large and black, her skin pale, and her lips as dark as a raven. Her black hair was silky and so long that it reached the ground.
She radiated a black energy around her that was so powerful that it gave Levi the chills.
Levi stepped backwards and summoned the sword from his storage. When it appeared in his hand, he took a fighting stance and pointed the sword at her.
"Stay away from me and I will not be forced to use this, " Levi threatened but his voice came out weak and feeble.
Lilith let out an evil laugh that was enough to make the skies rumble with thunder and light up due to lightning.
"I will kill you before you have a chance to move one muscle, boy. "
His hands started shaking uncontrollably and he dropped the sword. He picked it up again and asked the system to take it back to the storage.
[Are you sure? You will be weaponless and defenseless]
"Yes," he said through gritted teeth so Lilith would not find out that he was speaking. As soon as the sword disappeared, he scanned to see where the black wolf was.
When he failed to spot it, he turned around and started running. He knew he would not be fast enough but he had to at least try.
"Why are you wasting your time and mine by running? " She asked the further he went away.
The sand on his feet was making it hard to run away and the area all looked the same. He had no idea where he was going or how to get out of there.
He didn't get very far before a dark cloud carried him from the ground and suspended him in the air. He was floating opposite Lily who was suspended in the air without the help of a cloud.
She moved closer to him and grabbed his face with her hand as she inspected him.
"You're not a demon! You are just a human with demonic abilities and I can't tell how. Do you care to tell me or will I torture it out of you?"
Just then, her long nails started digging into his skin. He screamed in pain and begged her to stop as his black veins started showing over his face.
"P-Please, don't kill me. "
"I'm not going to kill you. I am only poisoning your blood so you can suffer for the rest of your miserable life. I hate abominations. "
